The time is now. Join Blue Sky!

Preface: IF you use Twitter, you should join Blue Sky.
If you don't use Twitter that is fantastic and you should continue to not use Twitter! You may be interested in joining Blue Sky, but more than likely you'll be happy to not add another social media to your life.
But with that said, I have been so, so happy to see the biggest wave of people moving from Twitter to Blue Sky yet!! I have found an incredible amount of existing and new accounts from people I followed on twitter in the last few days and it just makes me so happy to think that I can truly leave Twitter behind if I ever want to.
For those unaware, Twitter has been getting more and more frustrating to use ever since Elon bought it a while back. More ads, more algorithms, premium subscriptions, and overall just far less user-friendly.
However just this week, Twitter has confirmed its plans to neuter the ability to block accounts almost completely by... not blocking them. They can still see everything you post, just not interact with them.
Additionally, Twitter has changed its ToS so that everything you post can be used by Twitter in any way they see fit, explicitly including training generative AI and you cannot opt out of it. This one is the real kicker that crosses the line for a great many artists, and where the artists go the rest of the furry community follows. And they have chosen Blue Sky.
On top of these two big issues, I've heard the new ToS is just sus all around and reeks of Elon abusing his power over the site to target the people and demographics he doesn't like. And that is an issue that is only getting worse with time.
So overall, there is no time better than now to make the switch. If this doesn't cross the line, what will? Because Elon will abuse his power again. I'm not asking you to abandon Twitter now, I'm not even doing that (yet). But I am asking everyone that uses Twitter to make an account on Blue Sky, and try using it whenever you would normally use Twitter.
Need to find all your follows again? Don't worry! Check out this browser extension that can find all of them for you! https://chromewebstore.google.com/d.....l=en&pli=1
Definitely double check who they are since someone may have sniped the handle or share their name, but its a super quick and easy way to get your timeline just as populated as it was on Twitter (minus the ads)!
And speaking of no ads, Blue Sky also has featues Twitter doesn't! Such as awesome Starter Packs to help you find a ton of new accounts you may be interested in, incredibly customizable privacy and moderation settings (including the ability to custom create your own content warning/filtering settings and download others', such as the ability to filter out/warn about AI generated images), the ability to create your own feeds or add others' special feeds to your feed list, and a ton of other conveniences!
All in all, I cannot recommend Blue Sky enough. It's better than Twitter was before it was bought out! And I really hope to see the community use it over Twitter for its main social media site!!
Anyways all this was to say I'm gonna start linking artists' Blue Sky instead of Twitter now if they don't have an FA. Sound good? Awesome.
See you there! Here's my own Blue Sky to get you started: https://bsky.app/profile/craddock.bsky.social

Thank you so much, you won't regret it!
Yes, I can almost guarantee something will happen to it in 10 years. Few websites last longer than that anyways.
But ya know what I can guarantee will never happen?
Twitter being better than Blue Sky. At any point in time.
Which is why I want to stress, yeah if you don't use Twitter, by all means please continue to not use Twitter or Blue Sky. You're probably better off for it! But if you are currently using Twitter, do you really want to keep riding that sinking ship for the next 10 years? Or do you want to travel on the shiny new yacht until that one gets old and decrepit and inevitably replaced by something else?
As someone that had to abandon forums because Discord replaced them, it sucked! I had to start all over again, I had to get used to so many new changes in the way I interacted with people online. BUT I still switched because there was no reason to stick to a dying website when there was a shiny new modern one. And in the end? While I do miss a number of features from the forum days, I agree Discord was an improvement overall. And EVEN IN THAT EXAMPLE, the old forums weren't having their user experience actively sabotaged and my posts getting abused for things against my will. Blue Sky has no adjustment period. It's a straight upgrade at the moment of writing, so it will suck WAY LESS than the switch from forums to discord. And Discord has only gotten better and better in the last 10 years. Who's to say Blue Sky won't do the same?
Anyways, I may not be an expert on all the reasons why Twitter is worse than Blue Sky but I don't think I need to be. I've already repeatedly seen enough (with proof mind you) that has firmly solidified Blue Sky as the superior option, and if you have any non-speculative defenses for Twitter I'm glad to hear you out. I am always open to learning more info. But I do feel confident to stand behind the info I have heard and from my own firsthand experience using both sites: Blue Sky is a breath of fresh air and I'm so happy to see it flourishing.
I don't mean to write out this much to come off as hostile. I really intend nothing of the sort. I'd love to welcome you to Blue Sky. But I cannot stand the argument that because of what Blue Sky "might" become, it's worse than what Twitter has become right now. I don't see an issue with being a Twitter clone when it is better in every way than what Twitter ever was even at its peak. Because that's exactly what I wanted out of Blue Sky. Twitter with its issues fixed. And for all we know, it may beat the odds and stand the test of time! I can only tell you that on its current trajectory, Twitter will not.
That said, I will absolutely agree that the environment at Bluesky is leaps and bounds better! It has so many more moderation tools, like lists and labelers. And hashtags that actually work and don't suppress posts with their use. The nuclear block(one person blocking another hides BOTH sides of any interactions they had) Bluesky has certainly helps stop 'discourse' and dog-piling too! Feeds are great for getting specific kinds of content delivered to you. And of course, it's not run by a single idiot who thinks he's a genius.
Overall, it's nice to see Bluesky finally getting traction! Also, I've followed you on there, as I followed you on Twitter.
Ever since Blue Sky added video uploads it has all the features I cared about, I don't have any wishlist items left! It has everything I would need! So for me at least its a straight upgrade.
And yeah, very noticeably better user experience overall!
The community is definitely more chill, and you're welcome for the follow!
