I actually followed through with my promise on bailing twitter when Scrooge McMusk's deal has been finalized and moved into the building on day one.

I never looked back at all and for the longest time I was hesitant to get on Bluesky until a couple months ago.

tbh. what was/is the problem with Musk holding twitter? Not much changed but a bit less out of the blue bans and cancel shit where you didn't even know why. Actually it became calmer to me after Musk took over. Less third party screaming about things. Less stalking like : YOu said this and that there. I also do not like all he did but at least it made people finally talk to each other again as accusing and getting someone banned wasn't so easy anymore.

Well it's this: the moment he stepped foot into twitter...he fired 60% to 75% of the Twitter staff and replaced it with his own staff. Not only that, he dismantled the safety securities which prevents people from harassing you by @ tweet or PM's.

To make the damage worse, he has this feature if you buy the premium...the person who was blocked by the user can see what the user is talking about...thus making the block function worthless and from what I heard from others... Starting next month a new rule will be implemented stating AI on that site can steal and copy your artwork and claim it's theirs.

The premium feature was shit for sure but I can see I had less shit talk after he fired the staff

Oh believe me, I know it's dumb that one would target me for skin color...But I had reasons to leave: being called Uncle Tom because I'm dating a white guy, getting called the N word and other reasons...I didn't need that negativity in my life.

I have underactive thyroids which if I engage in a heated conversation, my body functions goes haywire like only causing me to get so hot... Even after coming out of the anger My body trembles for 10 minutes.

Guess we are having different experience but the deep essence is one: Social media is not bringing the best up in people.

Oh trust me, I got into an argument with my ex upstairs neighbor a year and a half ago... She's in her late 60s and suffers from dementia... She accused me for 3 days straight of having her apartment key and holding it hostage so she can't get in when in fact she locked herself out. I tried my Damnest to calmly ignore her yelling my name for 2½ days in the main hallway... Third day I snapped and yelled... When I came to my senses again I was trembling... That's how I knew there was another side effect of my underactive thyroids.
