I haven't made a lot of journals about a lot of things lately. It's been a rough streak. But with today's news I think I'm done with FA. Which it really, REALLY pains me to say. I've held out hope for this site, for the Admins to maybe, just MAYBE take a look at what they were doing after Dragoneer passed. It was a shock to the community as a whole, and I thought maybe this would make some of these admins put aside their differences, and try to unify behind Dragoneer's vision for the site.
I have never been more sorely disappointed.
It was clear that the only reason the site was holding together as well as it was was Dragoneer keeping more ban happy admins in some sort of check. Admins would slam for callouts if I named them but it has been made clear that the spirit of Fur Affinity died with Dragoneer and that the individuals involved in policy making have absolutely spit on Dragoneer's legacy.
That banner up top rings really hollow with today's announcement.
This place WAS my home. WAS
It wasn't perfect, but it was what we had. It's clear that "community" doesn't mean much to the current moderation team. It seems Dragoneer was the "dad", keeping it together, for the family. And now he's gone, and so is any sense of community that was.
I'm not going to 100% abandon or delete my art or anything... but I will definitely be leaning more into inkbunny as a primary home. The community there is absolutely better (not perfect, but better, feels more like late 2000's - early 2010's FA)

FA+

You could always set up over on itaku, eggs are fine there!
I was one of the first several donations to the site and the first largish one in the wake of Dragoneer's passing. I had some hope that given how much he supposedly meant to the staff, that maybe there would be some attempt to honor his wishes. It is now so clear that there is no intent to do anything but chase social clout by owning the site, that I am now hard considering a charge back of my donation. And this absolutely hurts to consider because Dragoneer meant so much to me personally, that my mate and I used to help him buy food to eat to afford to keep the lights on.
