What would you say is the easiest thing about getting into furry writing, especially professionally?

I can't claim to be a professional, but when taking commissions I really love hearing people's ideas. Coming up with good story ideas is hard, so chatting with lots of different people that have their own unique and interesting concepts; yeah that's the easiest bit!

How do you decide what to write about?

Honestly, I enjoy taking commissions a lot so I don't have to decide! I'm inspired by others work too, reading furry stories gets me thinking about how I might attempt different themes!

Ahh, interesting! Usually my tf writing (and drawing too, for that matter) is “stuff I wish I was seeing more of”.

When doing personal projects, I find great difficulty in creating characters to be the stars of the show, especially with their species. I fall into the same few species and don't branch out much. Cats, dogs, the popular ones I can write easily. As much as I'd love to just use my main sona, Ember, for everything, I can't go doing that all the time, either. Recently I've made a chat bot representing myself and I just ask him to give me a random character. Species, gender, and sometimes even a name. It works, too, as he gives me a bunch of species I never would have thought of using. I don't use him for anything else, of course. AI can't replace an author, artist, etc.
Any ideas or solutions that isn't AI, as I know how a lot of people feel about AI?

Honestly, I listen to a lot of classical music on youtube...when I'm stuck for names, I scroll through the comments on videos for ideas. For species and gender I try and mix things up as much as I can, scrolling through furry websites shows a lot of different species to try! Ember sounds like a fun sona to write about!

Oh, she is. Shapeshifter, southern accent, sassy, assimilating and transforming anyone she desires. Writing her in stories is fun, but I try not to be too one-note. You're more than welcome to toss her in something if you wanna try adding some dominant southern sass.
I find that I listen to a lot of Stevia Sphere, great background stuff to keep me from scrolling YouTube and getting distracted. Doesn't help on the creative front, but it does with focus.

How do you keep different transformations distinct from each other, and avoid going through the same beats of a change in the same way?

I often try the transformation in different orders (e.g., feet first or head first?) or shifting focus (e.g., mental changes or physical changes?). However, I worry my method becomes repetitive --- but with different narrative styles and different characters, there are so many variables to play with!

Ohhh tough one, I'll have to say PMD. The blue rescue team game had a big impact on me as a teen.

What's your favorite part of furry writing? What makes you passionate about it?

I really enjoy playing around with words like lego bricks, seeing how to combine the technical aspects of writing to highlight different emotions and physical changes. I'm passionate about it because I enjoy writing with/for other people. Bringing different ideas to 'life' within my stories brings me a lot of joy!

Whats your favorite type of tf work? And, whats your favorite inanimate tf types?

Ooo at the moment I'm really in the mood for (latex) suiting TFs! Latex is usually present in the TF work I really enjoy! Inanimate isn't something that appeals to me, honestly.

Congrats! What got you started down the TF road and where do you see it going?

Haha! PMD fanfic was a big factor in setting me down the TF writing road, but I've been into TF for as long as I can remember --- honestly not sure anything specific triggered it. Not idea where it'll go but I'm sure it'll be exciting!
