So hey did I mention I sat down and wrote a queer novella this summer?
Well it's live! Finally! Happy halloween y'all!!!
A woman. An island. A yen coin covered in blood. Step into the strange, brutal world of Taisho-era Japan, 1912, where life is precious and fortunes fleeting. Grizzled veteran and private detective Kuroki Shōhei has been tasked with the disappearance of a shipping magnate's daughter, who fled her father's mansion for the ancient island of Sado and the mysterious village nestled in its mountains.
Equipped with only a Schofield .45, his wits and an enigmatic reporter, the detective follows her trail through the island wilderness in a story of repression, greed, cruelty and living through your worst moments over and over again. Inspired by the works of Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Edogawa Ranpo and H.P. Lovecraft, and the expansive genre of sad wet men finding a reason to live. CW: this novella features implied and explicit scenes of gun violence, war, cruelty, sexual imagery and suicidal ideation. The novella's protagonists are queer, along with most major characters.
