I'm not a fan of the new American movies, personally, but I still go back and watch the classics.

Godzilla Minus One from last year was made by Toho, and is an amazing movie. They announced they will be making a sequel to it.

But I do agree and the American movies.
I enjoyed King of the Monsters for the music and Rodan, but that was about it.
They are otherwise, generally trash; to the point that I still haven't made it through all of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
It's just such a slog.

The only one I've sat through was the first one, with Bryan Cranston, and that was only because I was in a movie theatre so I couldn't really shut it off. Every. Damn. Time it seemed like the movie would actually pick up, as in seeing Godzilla fight the MUTO, the movie cut to some subplot. That's when I knew the franchise was just garbage. I've really tried so hard to enjoy the movies, because I want to enjoy the franchise, but I last maybe half an hour before I shut the movies off because I get so bored and outright angry. Kong is handsome though.

From what I've seen of 'Minus One,' it seems more like a horror movie than a kaiju flic, which I can appreciate. I've gotta sit down and watch it in full sometime.

I even made my OC to be a kaiju, well the 1998 godzilla i decided to be as big as him.

Godzilla wasn't my first macro crush. Those would be Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Babe the Blue Ox (don't judge). But Godzilla defiantly put me into the more violent aspects of macro and has inspired plenty of my rampage fics.
