I hope you voted.
If you haven't voted, I hope you are planning to vote.
There are a lot of things I could say about the decision, but one of the things that I will say is... aren't you fucking exhausted of Donald Trump? Wouldn't it be great if you never heard of him ever again? I think that would be fantastic.
If we all vote for Harris, and Democrats down ticket, that day is one step closer to reality. And I want that. I feel like if you do, you would, too.
Please vote.

I don't think Harris is going to be much better, both are exceptionally lousy candidates. But at least Harris isn't going to bail on Ukraine, so that was the deciding point in my book. Also, odds are pretty good we'll see a Republican majority in congress anyway, so a difference in party majority should keep any damage she does to a minimum.
We survived four years of Trump, although not without damage. We can survive four years of Harris. But for all that is competent in the world, can we *please* get a candidate who at least has a *tangential* relationship with reality at some point?
Either way, whatever your views, I strongly concur: Go Vote. Because the only thing preventing a representative form of government from backsliding into a totalitarian regime is an active and involved public. And while yes, we don't have good candidates to chose from, not voting means *they* get to pick, and that can backslide quickly.
