US Elections

*reads a lot of the comments on who does or did what and why and what who is gonna do or not*
Okay.
Well, after Russia, China, North Korea, Hungary, Iran and a bunch of other countries the USA now also want to have their chance to learn which problems "Strong Man" politics have.
Seriously, I thought Germany proved, basically, ALL the flaws. And the supposedly positive sides nobody liked. Same for Japan when they had that phase.
Most likely every generation and nation has to fuck around and find out for themselves. It's not as if there isn't enough misery in the world, so, hey!
Let's add a stack more misery!
Why grant people the rights over their own bodies and thus future and their survival?
Why act according to "Not guilty until proven otherwise" when the alternative is so much more fun to watch on TV?
Why NOT ruin your own economy when you can get rid of people who help improve your standard of living and improve your security - and smile in the camera doing it?
Yeah.
I'll keep my breath regarding what happens in the USA in the coming days.
And will hope that my countries government learned to add 1 and 1 in the mean time and stops coming up with numbers above 5.

Be safe, dear Lady Jessica.
Trump want Ukraine to negotiate and the war to end.
Kamala want to support Ukraine's right to defend itself. This means more dead Ukrainians.
That doesn't strike me as being a Hitler. Certainly Hitler would have wanted to crush Russia ?
Russia started the Ukraine conflict in 2014 with methods that can be seen as massively parallel to Germany reoccupying the Rhineland, the annexation of the Sudetenland, and the way the hot war in Ukraine is in that case the attack on Poland.
Trump's peace plan isn't public so far. But he often talked about how Russia would win anyway and Ukraine should concede and just surrender.
I went through the headache of watching his speeches where these topics were mentioned. Again, his ideas sound like Chamberlains plan for "Peace in our time" - giving Nazi Germany everything it wants and then all will be fine.
The problem is that Russia already had contracts that were meeting its own requirements, yet it still attacked Ukraine, so, like with Germany in 1938, appeasement already has failed and I can't see a reason why it should work now.
Plus, it is rather hard to tell a people to accept that their children were abducted, their population raped and murdered with no recompense as long as they still can fight.
Russia can have peace instantly - it only needs to pull out of Ukraine. So it is for one up to the Ukrainians in my opinion to decide what to do.
And second, given that when he has success ,Putin has a good reason to repeat the then verified successful scheme, and it invites others to copy it as it has proven successful, it is not a good thing regarding peace and stability for even more countries.
Germany took one year from appeasement to all out warfare. Russia might take longer, but there are many more contenders which might see a success of Russia as an invitation.
All of this might not need to happen.
Maybe it starts raining MLP ponies next week.
But I rather expect ponies than that "all will go well".
Also invading a country without local support in 2024 ? That's hell. Resistance movement with the ease of modern encrypted communications to organise. Dombass has *some* Russian sympathisers.
Or, actually, I rather doubt they didn't think and believe anything other than "dis maaan iz gunna kehp hes prohmeses!" - and actually be happy with WHAT he promised.
Plus, he is very good at playing the strong man, and he offers a very simple solution to complex problems, which appeals to many of the uneducated who vote for him as well... and to many of the disgruntled and discontent with the current and past government, not to mention the religious extremists... Typical dictator playbook.
