I agree, it doesn't matter who that person voted for. No one has the right to physically harm someone just because they don't like who that person voted for. those who do are thugs and the only place they belong is in jail.

It's sad and depressing is what it is. I already had to report a guy for threatening pregnant women and minorities.

I had to ban 6 mods in a discord server i admin in and report 4 of them to discord for making rl threats

I think this is what happens when people tie so much of their identity and self-worth to politics.

it doesn't help that due to double standards such behavior has been supported, defended and encouraged for the last 8 years( 2020 was when it was at the worst) instead of condemned and punished in society either

this is why i turned off social media platforms seeing too much fo the there going to kill us so we have to kill them first bullshit and other calls for violaince and targeting people over stupid shit

It's stupid and also incredibly depressing. I've seen a person that is pushing 50 act like a petulant child because of the elections. If you're that old and you still can't govern your own emotions, then online communities aren't for you.

I blame the "show empathy to everything trend" that has been around since the 2010s. People have been using the empathy as a get out of jail free card for so long such behavior has been normalized in alot of areas

There’s all kinds of things that lead to this and that are the big one is people just don’t know how to behave like civilized mature adults online anymore or control thete emotional outburst and a lot do it cause they know what gets them clout and likes and such online as well

correct part of learning how to behave is being held accountable and punished when one misbehaves when they are young however now day instead of people are b growing up in these" safe spaces" Where they can act however they want with little to no consequence. As a result they are basically spoiled. Those spoiled kids turn into entitled adults with little to no sense of accountability and don't know how to behave. Here is a perfe3ct example , collage girl back in 2020 made a video where she openly made death threats against anyone who said" all lives matter" Her boss saw this and rightfully so fired her, She then cried saying how the" trump supporters" got her fired from her job taking NO responsibility for her own actions
