Over the past 6 months I have seen THOUSANDS of black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans and Gay Americans drop the Dems like poison ivy and RUN for the Republican party. Seems to me, they are seeing something quite different.

Same. Our own Community is quite small (Low thousand-plus-ish). We have folks from a wide canvas of humanity, religious and political perspectives, and amazingly, a TON of peeps from all over the world (Asia and Middle East), who come and buy/barter our farm products.
Every last one of them, in the idle conversations I've heard and participated in, have been gazing in utter amazement at the insanity that's been happening, and not a single one of them (Immigrants in particular), support it.

Funny how none of these 'Legacy/MSM' platforms ever interviewed the common Citizen/LEGAL working/studying Migrant, isn't it?

I see Lei-Lani threw one of her infamous hissy fits and then erased all her comments that showed the whole wide world her true colors.

It amazes me how she seriously believes she can go around shooting her mouth off and not expect the consequences of her actions and bitching coming back to bite her on the ass. :)

It's why I block them before they have a chance to say anything. I know you can't reason or bargain with people like her, who are so fanatically devoted to their views and beliefs that they're out of touch with reality and only agree with anything that supports their views and anyone or thing who proves them wrong they lash out at.

I don't have the time or energy to put up with that anymore. Four years ago I tried desperately to reason with her before I realized how much of an insane fanatic she was who was so out of touch with reality she had lost her mind and saw herself as the center of the universe.

And she's not the only one there's ALLOT of people like her who are just as crazy or somehow even worse. So I just don't bother anymore, as soon as I see one red flag I just block them and move on because I don't see the point in talking with them anymore.

That's the politest way I know to describe people who are this way.

The thing is, it is never 'Over.' It isn't 'Won.' It is a lifelong challenge that every generation has to face.

When I reflect on all the things our Founding Fathers had to contend with, when they spent YEARS constructing our Constitution and Bill of Rights, knowing they couldn't even fulfill everything in those documents (Just our Bill of Rights alone, originally a mere 10, has expanded to over twice that, today)?

Wanting a 'Perfect Nation' is one thing. A high goal to be sure.
Being able to make it happen? whew....

America is not perfect. Never has been. Isn't, still. Probably won't be in the near/far future.

What we must do is TRY! Apply ourselves to see oversights fixed, unknown challenges faced and handled appropriately. We dare not become stagnant, indifferent, lazy (Which we have, alas).

For now, I'm just focusing very hard on everything in my reach, that I can actively participate in. I can't heal the nation, so will start with things that I can.

There is no other Country in human history, or currently existing on this planet, that has "We, the People" in control over its own Govt., like America (Is supposed to be).

What WE have done with this control/responsibility is a whole 'nuther matter entirely, and I can only hope and pray enough of us have finally woken up, and are ready to do the hard work required to see our nation retaken, restored and then all the safety/security, prosperity and health an attainable goal/dream again.

I include myself in this, across the board. 'I' presumed far too much, trusted and believed 'The System(s)' would self-correct before too much harm was done.

'I' am also ready to pitch-in in every way I can manage, until the day I stop breathing, to see this happen.

I honestly have no interest in politics anymore... in fact, I haven't had any such interest since the 2016 Presidential Election, and I'll be 38 in December. I could care less about what's going on at the White House... I'm more concerned with what's going on at or around my house.

I've said this in another comment on another person's journal, and I'll repeat it here: the world is going to give me a fatal heart attack... from all of the thousands of grains of salt I've taken with all of the rigamarole that the "news" companies have tried to shove down my throat.

Absolutely agree with you regarding how WE get/earn exactly the kind of govt., nation and society WE tolerate and enable.
I also understand hating politics, and not wanting to have anything to do with it. It's a fetid cesspool that stains anyone that dares get close, much less swim in.
The sad truth is, however- Politics cares very much about YOU, and will never stop intruding on your life in every way possible.
We're not curing America's ills individually. That demands the MASSES, and let's face it, American's are much like cats, and trying to herd cats, or get them to focus on something (Of Meaning/Value), is a herculean task.
So, as Jordan is fond (And correct) of saying- Clean our own room/house/property, first. Once that's done, help your neighbors, your community, your town/village, then city. County, then State.

All of this took over two centuries to happen (The bad). It isn't going to vanish overnight, or easily.

I'll die long before this task is completed (If that's even possible). That's alright.

Just remember, differing opinions is also a great American value. Both sides blame one thing or another on what it means to live in and thrive in the U.S. Just saying agree with me or gtfo is never going to be helpful.
I support everyone's right to free speech and the exchange of ideas no mater which side anyone is on. As long as they don't tryin creating a theocracy and support the middle class, I don't much care which side is in power.

My faith in, and Oath to Serve/Defend America was made to our Constitution/Bill of Rights, no political party, much less person. Anything that deviates from what those two critical documents state, is anathema to me and something I will never willingly bow-down to, or comply with. To the best of my abilities. This is a gigantic 'Goliath' of a problem that's going to take some serious work to defeat, but I'm in that fight, willingly.

What astonishes me, and this Journal Post highlights it yet again, are all those who are ohsohappy to talk sh*t, then *BLOCK* the person they're challenging/insulting, and then traipse off thinking they've seized and hold the moral 'High Ground.'
