Adopt and YCH Rules - Updated November 2024

Adopt Rules
1. First come, first serve. I honor claims by the timestamp, whether it’s in a comment or a note.
2. Payment is through PayPal only, please. I will send you an invoice for the character. You have 72 hours to pay. If you cannot pay within that time frame, the character opens up for someone else. If you need to pay on a specific date, please negotiate that with me, but I will not hold an adopt for more than two weeks.
3. There is currently no limit on how many adopts you can scoop up at once. However, reference sheets or extras take up commission slots, which I have limited across all sites to between 3 and 5 at any given time, to avoid burnout. If you adopt more than two at a time but want ref sheets or comms of them, you must be willing to wait.
4. Unless otherwise stated, you may change what you like about the character to make them more your own! I prefer that the overall design is preserved, because I really try to be creative with these, but it's totally fine to OC-ify them as you need them. Gender, hairstyles, markings, tattoos, piercings, outfits, etc. are all encouraged to be tweaked.
5. Adopts are Pay-What-You want! For the base price, you will get the original art for the character, usually with a ref sheet of their back and important features. I can remake the ref with any tweaks you might want off the bat for an additional fee, and/or include a NSFW version. You may also request a commission of your new character as well. Prices for each of these will be stated in the listing.
6. If an adopt has ON HOLD next to the name, I'm either working something out with the buyer or awaiting payment. There is a small chance the adopt may go back up for sale but do not inquire about it until it's been changed back to OPEN.
7. If you want a character completely made from scratch, I can do that for you as long as I have a commission slot open. 100% custom characters start at $30 and may go up depending on complexity. They can usually be any rating, and come with a basic ref sheet. If you like a theme of adopts I’ve made, but don’t exactly like how they’re done, you can use that as a base as well! My egg adopts work roughly the same way.

3. When I say any species, I mean it! Any species is welcome in any of my preposes. Gender is usually easily changable unless otherwise stated. I tend to draw random gender and species in the poses simply out of habit, so please pay no heed to this and just imagine YOUR character there! :D Once it is sketched, I will send you the preview. If you want me to make any changes, the time is now.
4. YCHs are pay what you want! You can get it with flat colors or shaded. They automatically come with a minimal background, or whatever was already in the drawing, but you're allowed to ask for small edits to the layout. If it starts getting too complex, I may charge extra.
5. I am no longer holding out for multiple people to buy a slot in a multi-character YCH, unless otherwise stated. You can buy the whole thing and put whatever characters you'd like in it.
6. If a YCH has ON HOLD in the title or next to a slot, I am working something out with a buyer or I am awaiting payment. There may be a small possibility that one or more slots may go back up for sale, but please refrain from asking until it’s removed or changed. If it has CLOSED or SOLD in the title or next to a name, that’s it. Do not inquire about it further because the person paid for it and the process has started. If a piece gets enough interest, I might put it up for sale a second time, but most likely, if I do it again, it will be different.
7. Some solo poses have more than one slot! This means more than one person can purchase the YCH in whatever style they want. I will offer the pose until it has been bought the number of times I have indicated, and then the pose will be retired to the scraps folder.
Adopts and YCHs alike are subject to my ToS and Content Guidelines. An adopt or YCH which falls into my Iffy or Won't category may be experimental/one-off, and I request you ask about any tweaks you want before purchasing, to make sure I can do it!
