You might want to reconsider that, blues terms of service states that any artwork you post on their site they can claim copyright ownership to and use to make money for them without paying compensation to the artist.

This is the same thing that comes up with every community site ever, there are legal requirements for how they process and serve content to people, and they have to disclose them in a way that sounds very scary. But I haven't heard of anything egregious with Bluesky along those lines, and given some of the people I follow they'd be the first to scream about that.

You probably think I blocked you just as you posted this because I was "scared of the truth", but honestly I was going through the comments for your Boomer-ass "Aliens fucking farm animals explains Liberals 🤣🤣" journal and adding a few blocks before I did yours.

And obviously it does. Writing BlueSKY and making everything look all scary doesn't mean it isn't the exact same thing that comes up every time. I think people tried to make it a thing with Cohost for a bit, which was obsessed with doing things by their morals.

Also just hilarious to be linked to a site going full-bore into dumping everything into their AI training regardless of consent, to be warned about the "dangers of BlueSKY stealing your content". My favorite bit is "Say what you want about elonmusk and X their ToS clearly state what they will do with Grok." That's some hilarious "At least they're telling us we're going into the meat grinder!" logic. Nevermind that it was a sudden TOS change a month ago that removed the ability to opt out, so no, they didn't clearly state it upfront, they offered a way to opt out and then removed that.

But hell, you don't like Bluesky? Find a Fediverse instance. There's other social networks popping up with some positive talk as well. But implicitly arguing for people to stay on X? That gets side-eye.
