to make a bluesky account?
im not really sure. but part of me is already not liking it at all. Like I've heard so many claims how it's a great way to build an audience but I don't know. I just don't see that happening for me on there

Just waiting for them to add bookmarks.
For artists and creatives specifically, I don't think it's the best alternative out there, since, just like Twitter, it's a social media site first and foremost. Even if it has better basic functionality, it's still not built with organized content sharing as the focus. I also doubt that it'll stay "good" once it attracts more users and has to start looking for ways to make money and appease investors. It wasn't that long ago when Twitter seemed like a hot new alternative to the social media sites people were using. How soon we forget...
While I do like the website more, it's still deff' not an ideal place to post art.
I'm hearing people getting angry about simple technical concepts like "the site hosting your images on it is legally and technically called REPRODUCING and DISTRIBUTING them, yes" Heeeeere's your sign
For the record, I'm not the type to care about this at all. Having your work stolen or otherwise repurposed is just the risk you take when posting stuff online. However, I do find it funny how people are moralizing their switch to Bluesky when the stuff it does with your data isn't all that different from what Twitter was already doing with it, or any other social media site, for that matter.
I wouldn't even consider trying to start a new X account right now. It's a redirect. That's all.
There is Z E R O point in trying to start an X when that site is so beyond F U C K E D
