It is always time to build society

Greetings reader
I hope your day has been serine, but if not, if the events of the world are causing you stress; please remember the serenity prayer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serenity_Prayer):
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and Wisdom to know the difference.
In the next few years there are things we can change. We can work on making ourselves better persons. We can make art. We can share company with others. Each day we can do "a random act of kindness, no strings attached" for another person. We can start making plans for the day when government actions, actions that failed in the past, will be reversed. We can start being the citizens of a new society to come. We can make it happen.
What we cannot change is the current persons in charge of the U.S. government. Nor can we change what they are going to do. We can protest, we can write letters; but I do not think these actions will effect change. I believe those actions may make us feel good about ourselves, but will only waste our energies; energies put to more effect use else where.
But the majority did vote for the current president elect. The president elect was very clear during his campaign what he represents and what he wants to do. This is what the majority of U.S. citizens voted for, so it must be what they want. And it has already begun. Consider the appointment of cabinet member with views not held by the majority, the request that Congress not have approval of these appointments, and the president elect will not officially be president until January 6, 2025. But I believe the actions to come, as they become reality, will cause many of those supporting the president elect will see these actions are not in their best interest. Having tried this type of government, those citizens will want change back to a government similar to what came before.
I am reminded of a saying: When the people lead, the leaders will follow.
This seems to be a version of Mahatma Gandhi’s quote “There goes my people. I must follow them, for I am their leader”.
There are always things that need change in society. But these times seem especially in need of change. May we all listen to others with less bias, be more understanding, and incorporate more compassion in our behavior. May we all created the new society that will drag the leaders along with us.

I hope we can undo some of this, work together to build back America, but that will be the future. I would love to love to see that one day.
Many voters voted because they want immediate change to their costs of living (i.e. food and housing). Those voters are scared, and rightfully so. They believe that DJT can control prices. I guess they do not understand how the economy works. A president does not control prices of food or housing. And DJT played on those fears. Like any good confidence scam, appear to greed or fear.
My humble opinion follows:
My hope, as the reality of a second DJT presidential term plays out, is that almost all voters will see the results of giving in to fear and learn to be stronger voters next time. That voters will learn to push for real solutions, not just empty rhetoric. This is assuming there is a next time. I read history. Other countries have voted authoritarian leader into power only to discover that authoritarian leaders cannot be easily removed from power later. It could happen here, it could happen in 2025.
My apologies for being so negative. But deigning the reality in front of us, will not help up survive.

May we all adventure well, with high values, and survive to tell tales in the tavern after the campaign ends.
