Hi everyone. This is a reliable source of Windows information.

Be sure to image your drive, or at least backup the files.
And check back here as I add updated information.

and then pause updates.
When a fix is available, I will post it.
IIRC you can only pause for 5 weeks, and that time will run out for me in a few days, so that's why I was thinking Microsoft is forcing to me to NOT use the computer I bought until they can get their act in gear on this.
Here are the steps

All computers have a drive, also known as a hard drive.
SSD = Solid State Drive. A computer hard drive that is constructed of memory chips. No moving parts. Much faster. Uses much less energy. This is the newer technology.
HDD = Hard Drive Disk. A computer hard drive constructed with motors and a magnetic disk. This is the older technology.
SFC = System File Check. A windows command to check the windows core files against a master copy located on the hard drive. Will try to fix any corruption it finds.
DISM = Deployment Image Servicing and Management. A windows command that does many things. In this case it rebuilds the master copy of Windows core files on the hard drive by referencing a copy at Microsoft servers.
No fix yet. But this new info about SSD controllers that are effected. And how a Windows Feature update, that can not be uninstalled, creates the same problem.
BEWARE! Windows Update and SSD Problem is WAY worse than we thought! Full Demonstration

This is a great overview of current findings on this issue and why panic is not needed.
