That fateful day (my dream archive)

You would never believe the dream I had this morning.
A convention was going to take place within walking distance. For some reasons I still booked the hotel north of the con (not the main) because, why not? However, I got busy with work until the first day of the con - it was afternoon, the foyer of the main hotel was already filled with fursuiters. I checked my reservation, only to realize that I was supposed to check in yesterday. I was like, crap, how can I mess this up so bad? I rushed to my hotel with my suit. Maybe I didn’t have to book it anyway, maybe I can get some of my money back because my place is literally right there, I thought. But for some reasons the hotel staff wasn’t letting me cancel it so unfortunately I was stuck with that hotel room. Well, fine, at least I have a room where I can comfortably suit up.
“Knock, knock”
“Who’s there?”
I opened the door. To my surprise my family was here. In fact, I was so shocked that not only they knew where I was staying and they even brought 2 counterfeit fursuits, and it was crazy that both of the suits looked like my suit but with slightly different markings and styles.
“Why? What is this? What are you doing here?”
My family said they were excited to pay me a visit and somehow they found out that I’d show up at the con so as a surprise they bought the suits from some shady websites, one for my little cousin and one for my mom.
I was speechless. It was so lame that the website was selling fake fursuits that copied off of my own sona. I told my mom this is not okay. I mean, for outsiders they have no idea but still I wouldn’t be happy to see copies of my suit because it is MY sona and it does NOT represent anyone else! No other people should be wearing something like that because I know they don't actually resonate with the sona, like, to them it's just a mascot. I don't wanna see anyone in my suit, let alone my family that has zero understanding of fursuits.
Now it's time to suit up and go see the furries. Then my mom helped me put on the suit but somehow she picked the counterfeit one, ugh. To them it's all the same, I get it. At least I was being patient with people that aren’t well versed in the furry subculture.
My family left, so only my mom and I were in the room. Once we opened the door, we were surrounded by a group of not so friendly people. Must be a gang or the mafia, probably the mafia. They pointed at me saying there’s a scroll that they dropped on purpose and I didn’t pick it up. The scroll summoned me to partake in their game and they assumed I quailed and refused to come. I was terrified, saying there was no such thing as a scroll, like why would I even pay attention to something that trivial. They were mad, telling me if I don’t comply, they would literally shred us to pieces. They insisted that we play a game but if we lose, we would "never see light again". We agreed, because that was the only option we were given here.
The game was very simple: my mom and I would play as a team with each of us choosing three cards from several cards from their big stack of cards. The cards used in the game were randomly picked by the mafia so the cards could be very good or very bad depending on our luck. Behind the cards there’re multipliers or the amount of gold written on it and both multipliers and the gold rewarded to us follow the addition rule (like a 10x card and a 100x card give us 110x and the same for the gold), and the total gold we have is the gold count times the multipliers. To win the game, we must have a minimum of 10k of total gold after exhausting our chances to pick the cards. The cards chosen by the mafia were laid out from left to right in a horizontal row with their back facing us. My mom played first as she volunteered, and chose a card that she thought would be the best, which revealed to be a decent multiplier, then her second pick was “pick again” which allows her to pick another card so she got to pick a new card, then she picked another multiplier and then got to pick again and finally picked a 1000x multiplier. She ended up picking the best multiplier possible in the game. However, there was no gold so the game could be rigged if there’s only multiplier but no actual gold so we could lose the game with zero gold despite having a huge multiplier. My first pick was a 5 gold which put us in a really good spot and then I picked the second card, which, surprisingly, was hundred gold meaning that we won the game. My mom wanted to take it up a notch and hinted at me to pick the second card from the right, then I picked it, and it was 1000 gold. I never thought my mom would be the MVP! But anyway, we won the game and the mafia agreed to let us go, but before they released us they showed us a video where a furry, still in their (used they/them pronoun for the furry) fursuit, who appeared to be an unfortunate guy who lost the game, was awaiting their execution. We saw the fursuiter tied up in their suit. Behind them stood his executioner, a mafia member in a mask. The executioner rose the nail bat high above the furry’s head, then brought it down with all his might like there was no tomorrow, and bang, what was left of the scene was the poor furry in a pool of their blood. The blood seeped through the fursuit, slowly covering their whole lifeless body.
My mom and I were absolutely terrified and sick to our stomach, but there was nothing we could do about the mafia. The only thing that we were told was they would not bother us again because even as the mafia, they never go back on their words. Then they showed us we topped leaderboard, but at that point it was already meaningless.
After that incident my family would never go to a furry convention ever again.
