Happy Thanksgiving! + General Life Update
10 months ago
Howdy everyone! Hope for those that celebrate you're having a good Thanksgiving holiday and enjoying all the food and (if they're tolerable) family :)
I know that things have been overall rather quiet 'round these parts and over on Twitter for those that follow me there too, so figure it's also a good time just to touch base with folks to let you know what's going on. And the answer is a pretty basic "not much", so nothing tremendously dramatic. I mean for better or worse, my life is more or less pretty routine and keeping on as usual for me, with the downside of there not being much exciting to talk about.
The more unfortunate thing is just sort of the passing of time doing its thing and generally feeling a lot less energetic and engaged that I used to. It's nothing against anyone else of course, just more the staring down the barrel of being 40 in about a year and starting to feel that a bit. I don't commission much these days for a few reasons, so sadly just not as much to showcase and keep folks interested either.
That's not to say things are bad, quite the opposite in the ways that are really important. For everyone worried about Vicky we're very flattered, but don't fret, Vicky's doing just fine as well and we're still very happily married and living our boring mundane suburban life :)
Both Vicky and I are just in kind of that burnt out fugue state of not engaging as much online as we used to. You only have so much energy and focus in a day, and when you don't feel it in you to devote that time or energy to online business you just sort of pull back from it a lot. In Vicky's case there was definitely a mental health aspect of it as well, where just having to feel "plugged in" and checking galleries and trying to keep up with things was a lot of added stress.
For anyone we chat with on messengers, there's also the aspect of us not being around as much, and again it's nothing against any of you fine folks. Just again a lot of lack of focus and energy and just not knowing what to say quite a lot of the time.
So yeah, no big drama, no earth shattering revelations, mostly just kind of a mutual lack of motivation/inspiration from myself and Vicky. Vicky's not "gone" from things, but just can't say if she's going to feel like making appearances much or with any sort of consistency. But she does appreciate the kind words and care folks have sent :)
As for me I'm still puttering around, again not with the kind of frequency or ability to stay focused or engaged the way I used to, but I'm an old enough veteran of this fandom to be going anywhere else :)
Take care everyone out there!

Of course, you and Vicky are welcome to engage in whatever capacity you prefer. I like hearing from the two of you, but ultimately, your online accounts exist to serve you -- however best that may occur. Anyone worth talking to should understand that, I suspect.
A very happy thankmas to the both of ya and hope the best for both of you :)
Hope you both continue to be happy and enjoy yourselves!
