Re: future comics
Hey folks, just sharing an update as to the future of the comic:
A very kind individual has sent me a drawing tablet!
I've never used one before, so it's going to take me a little to get the hang of doing so.
The current plan for implementing it once I've gotten used to using it:
1) speeding up the cleaning up scans of comics prior to coloring/lettering/etc
2) later possibly using it to replace the inking phase entirely (which in turn would eliminate the scan cleanup time)
I'm not sure if the comic will ever go entirely digital, that depends entirely on how much skill I can develop at using this
Thanks again for your support, everyone!

Is it a display tablet? This will really streamline your workflow! You can also change it up, depending on what program you use to take advantage of special brushes n stuff! I use Clipstudio, and I LOVE it.
I can't do traditional art at all, I've tried, I always get something wrong and I cant just lasso it on paper and scale it or rotate it lol. Can't wait to see!
Thus far I've figured out how to set the keys on the side of it and poked at an old drawing game to try and get used to using the stylus :)
Mostly I use a mid-90s copy of Paint Shop Pro -- I've been using it for nearly 30 years, I'm used to it, and it doesn't pester me to update or require subscriptions ;)
I've also got a copy of Corel Paint 6 here with a Bob Ross brush set from a Humble Bundle several years back that I've started playing with a little with the new tablet :)
Love your comic.
Very creative you are.
Also I have tremors in my hands (thankfully the worse one is my non-dominant hand), so, stylus sensitivity may be an issue to get used to as well
It's a new thing to learn :)
I typically reduce the image by 24% after coloring and before lettering as is
...then erase the pencil lines and do a second inking on faded ink lines, applying White-Out (I use the pen version, not the brush on) as necessary to fix errors in the first inking.
Then scan.
Then spend a few hours cleaning up the lines in the scan...
If I can switch to doing the 'inking' digitally, that'd probably speed up the process by at least 4 hours on average
:)
...or just draw in general.
.....or draw at all.
Artists block is never fun :( I hope you find motivation soon!
And yes, I'll keep you updated!
