For those who like watersports but not scat, what's the reason behind it? What makes piss play to you different than scat play, as a sexual concept or kink? Technically, both are excretions, and it's been proven that neither is very sanitary to play with, let alone consume, so... why is the first more acceptable to you than the second? Is it the whole "marking your territory" bit?

Not into watersports myself, but if I had to guess, perhaps its more urine is a bit icky but at least more or less clean. In ancient times urine was even used as a cleaning agent since it contained ammonia. Scat, not so much.

But it's recently been learned that urine isn't sterile or clean, it's just as capable of being infectious and dirty as any other excrement, so...

Ah... first I am hearing of it. Probably the first others are too. As that gets to be more well known, that may change the perception.

Yeah, you can look it up; an article in 2014 ran a study about it, and found that most of the samples they had grew harmful bacteria, so it isn't sterile in the least.
