I post journals so infrequently anymore, but it's still tradition for me to ring in the New Year ... in journal form.
I have some plans for 2025 that I hope to realize without too much hassle, but my overall expectations for the year, both in personal terms and the world in general, are quite low. This is more a safety net than anything. I'm hoping that by expecting the worst, even 'mildly disappointing' could be seen as a pleasant surprise in relative terms.

Let's just hope that certain people in positions of power do not escalate things any further than they already are....
