Life Update + Commission Sale
Hey guys, its been a while! Well, been a while since I put up a journal! I ought to be more consistent about it, but ah, time does escape us all!
I have a bit of backlogged art to share since the last quarter of the year has been just so much. Between holidays, running around to see family in other states, running around to visit friends and explore New Orleans, and the horrendous mess that is Seasonal Affected Disorder, I have been making art and just... not posting it all on here. I have to catch up, so I'll probably dump them all today and tomorrow because I'm impatient and don't like spacing them out!
Now, I do have more happening than just holidays, family, and seasonal depression; me and my wonderful wife are currently in the process of getting ready to move! I already posted the Sale as a submission (I should have posted it sooner, but /gestures at everything keeping me busy/) so you may know but we are trying to skedaddle out of Texas as fast as possible because things for queer people down here aren't very good. We've mused about moving for the better part of the last 10 years but my wife coming out and transitioning was a big push, even before the unfortunate turn out of the Presidential Election. Our goal is Pennsylvania! The home I once had before I scooted down to Texas to be with my now-wife <3
Our lease lets up at the end of February, so I'm holding this sale until then, slashing prices on Flat Color Single Character commissions down to 75$ for waist up and 100$ for full body pieces! They will be fulfilled, even if it takes me some time, but we could really use the help since post-Holiday my work hours have been cut severely. If you know anyone looking for art, please send them my way, or show them this submission with details about the sale! --> SALE POST
Thank you all also for following me for as long as you have been and if you've read this journal thank you even more and here is a picture of the kitten (now fully grown runt menace) that I mentioned in the last journal I shared, miss Ella

And has Texas ever been a Queer friendly place? (Genuine question cause I am not from the US, but everyone I hear about talkin about Texas has always been negative in that regard.)
Goodluck with the moving, I hope it all runs smooth for you both!
A lot of Southern US metro areas are more queer-friendly, but... When the state's laws change, those safe cities aren't so safe.
And honestly, I could say the same for metro vs rural anywhere in the US, at least on the east coast. Where I was living in upstate New York, it was very rural, and I swear I saw more confederate flags there than I did the first 20+ years of my life in East TN (I lived in both Knoxville, which can be pretty queer-friendly in some places, and Knox County, going to a high school in the latter).
And some parts of Texas arent as bad as others! We're in a place thats currently not The Worst, but the constant anti-trans legislation brought up on a state level means protections even within bigger cities may dwindle. Plus, golly am I ever tired of the heat down here... I was born far in the North and even lived in Canada for a chunk of my life - I am not a wolf made for the 100+ degree summers x)
Thank you so much for the kind words :D
And thank you for explaining <3 that makes a lot more sense.
And no problem at all, I hope everything will work out <3
