Incoming backlog and an announcement to my clients.

Please read my Terms of Service before we do business. I really haven't got a lot to say about last year that I haven't already, having spent about half of it on long night shifts from June until four days before Christmas - anything to get my finances back in order after the mess I found myself in last January. That month, I had a series of enormous costs come up that resulted in me having to forfeit my place at MFF 2024. Generally I will pay for my flights and hotel room in April or May, and by the time April rolled around, I could not pay for either of them. I know what I said in my last journal, but I intend on coming back for this year's iteration. :3
During these six months, I wasn't able to find very much time to devote to commissions. I know I also haven't been very good about uploading either, resulting in me now having a large backlog. So, when you suddenly see a lot of alerts in your submissions feed from me, now you will know why. A lot of these are photo shoot pictures I had done at the last two ConFuzzled events, along with the commissions I was able to complete last year.
And speaking of which, I have an announcement that should be made.
It's a shameful state of affairs that I have not only taken on such a high number of clients at once, but have kept you all waiting for as long as I have for updates, progress and all the rest. Therefore, as an apology, all of the clients who came to me while I was open for my current batch have been awarded discounts of 40%, which will be automatically applied on their next purchases from me. You should see your usernames listed on my Trello. This began in mid 2022 when financial problems forced me to take on any clients I could possibly get, even being prepared to bend my own rules a little just so I could raise the cash that was needed. It was a month when my income fell far short of what was needed for my bills.
Now that I'm in a much better situation, I don't think I will have to resort to such desperate measures again any time soon. My country's minimum wage increases in April, which will mean I'll see my own wage bumped up, with my benefits having also increased after having passed my 35th birthday. As detailed in a previous journal, I'll take some time out once my current batch is taken care of to focus on some of my own projects before I take on any further commissions. Even then, I will only take on a much smaller number at a time so that I never keep any client waiting for as long as I did again.
With how the world is now, our community is strongest together. Don't lose sight of that, whatever you do. I won't go into detail, because there's nothing I can say about what we're all in for over the next four years that others haven't already.
