SoFurry technical difficulties

For the past couple days whenever I try to open up SoFurry I just get this error message about hardware failure and a link to a new "BETA" version of the site...which is barely operational. What's up with this? If SoFurry is doing maintenance, why are to making an entirely new site under the same name that barely works? If their plan is to ditch the old domain for the new one, why not just announce that to the users?
That being said, it doesn't help that I upload so infrequently anymore. I'm hopefully changing that soon. :)
Not sure what's up with the beta site, but i assume it's some sort of internal beta they opened to the public as a temporary replacement. (or at least, i hope that's it)
