Brave's built-in adblocker has stopped working (edit)

Has this happened to anybody else? It's not just the sneaky Google and Twitch ads getting through, but ALL ads on EVERY webpage, including here. Even the generic plug-in adblockers used to have no trouble blocking most of those. Yes I went into the settings to make sure the adblocker was turned on but it makes zero difference.
I found a temporary fix by downloading a more generic adbocker (some one I used for Chrome) into Brave. It's not as good as Brave's adblocker was before it stopped working but it's better than nothing.

Also it seems only my PC has this issue. Other computers in the house that my mom uses (including two with Windows 10) don't have this issue, so I'm thinking it's something on my computer that got messed up. I just don't know what yet.
