Holidays and stuff~

Soo~ I got myself a new tablet. It's a Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch, size medium. Apart from little issues with SAI in the beginning, I've been happy with it so far. It's about twice the size of my previous Bamboo though, that takes some time to get used to. Surely the size will be an advantage after that. :3
As for other news, it's nearly Christmas as you have surely noticed~ I'm still writing this at my apartment, but me and Tiu should get driving back to home in an hour or two. I'm not looking forward to the ~4 hours on the road, the weather is lousy and from what I've hear the roads are extremely slippery. xP
We will return for a few days on 27th, I intend to continue my commissions etc. then. See you everybody, enjoy the holidays! :3

Tried hard to get the hang of it, but It's just not the same as working with pen or pencil and paper.
Ended up giving it to another fur, since I seen no point in letting a good tablet go to waste.
It was a Genius brand tablet, since I feel Wacoms, while a well known brand, are a bit overpriced.
But you are right, it just isn't the same no matter how you look at it. The Cintiq series drawing displays might be the closest you can get, but the price is way out of my budget for years to come.
And, hmm.. never heard that about Wacom and having special patents.
Well, one way around t5hat is this..
I've heard as long as any similar product product made is roughly about 70 percent different from a similar patented product, it's
just different enough that nobody can sue and win a court case over such a similar product of any kind.
This was mentioned on PBS in the early 90's about computer hardware. So, not sure if things have changed when it comes
to that, but if it hasn't, maybe a similar enough tablet could be made that's Wacom-like, yet still avoids enough patent infringement to
stay legal. *Shrugs* just a thought.
I wouldn't mind seeing a high quality competitor to Wacom though, I bet it would lower the prices nicely. Especially in the high end models, where Wacom practically holds monopoly.
in the business world... any company hold a monopoly on one given kind of product.
Heck, that's why I once again find myself giving Linux another test drive lately.
Thank you very much, I hope you had too! :3
