Help Me Think of Ideas, Please?
So, a little over a year ago, I drew this: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/54639769/
Basically, it illustrates part of a Percy Jackson AU of mine: an AB daycare for demigods run by Hebe, the goddess of youth.
Well, now I'm working on a serialized comic taking place in that daycare (I'm thinking of alternating between uploading pages of it and pages of my South Park comic, Big Brother Turd, that is, I'll upload a page of Big Brother Turd one week and a page of the daycare comic the week after and so on).
I already have quite a few pages sketched out, but now I've got writer's block, and I want to dedicate parts of the story to fleshing out the daycare, you know, showing how this magical daycare made by and for Greek mythological beings works, but I'm having trouble thinking of ideas.
Here are a few of my ideas:
- The daycare and its caretakers (and, by extension, Hebe) are able to sense what makes each individual Little tick, that is, what brings out their little side, what traumas they're trying to heal, what their likes and dislikes are, et cetera. However, sometimes their senses glitch up and make assumptions based on certain traits the Little possesses (hence Piper's frilly dress in my drawing).
- While Hebe runs the daycare, she doesn't work there as a caretaker (I thought of having her do that initially, but after reading Chalice of the Gods, I decided that wasn't in character for her). The caretakers are the restless souls of parents who lost their child and died without having a new one; they work at the daycare to fulfill their unfinished business, so they can move on to the Underworld. They also appear to each individual Little as their strongest parental figure (for instance, if Percy looked at one of them, he'd see them as his mother, Sally).
- The daycare is accessible through Hebe's arcade, Hebe Jeebies, as seen in Chalice of the Gods and requires a special code word given only to Littles and their caretakers.
- The daycare has separate areas for other mythological creatures, like gods, satyrs, and nymphs, and the demigod area is available for demigods of all pantheons, provided they know a Greek demigod who's able to lead them there.
- The books in the reading corner are manipulated by the Mist and take advantage of the demigods' dyslexia; they're legible only to caretakers and give Littles the illusion of not having learned to read yet.
- The caretakers are prepared for Littles losing control of their powers and forgetting that their powers have consequences. When a Little loses control, the caretakers clean up their mess, heal anyone who's been hurt, and take the Little into another room until they've calmed down. They also develop personalized tricks for helping Littles remember their powers' consequences.
So, yeah, I've got quite a few ideas, but I feel like I need more. Preferably, I'd like some ideas relating to playtime, activities, and toys, you know, in line with what I said about books.
You don't need to know the story's general plot. I'm looking for ideas on how the daycare functions.
You also don't need to have too much inside knowledge of Percy Jackson. I'm just looking for how to build a magic daycare made by and for Greek mythological creatures.
Oh, and please, no kinky ideas. Hebe's the goddess of youth; she oversees those looking to heal their inner child. People who derive sexual pleasure from being treated like a baby aren't her department. Not to mention most demigods don't live to adulthood, so this daycare mostly consists of teenagers.
Finally, if I use any ideas, I'll credit whoever suggested them.
Please, give me some ideas.
