Your tweet suggests you want to speak to a therapist, and I do believe that is the right choice, and I think you should take your mother with you.

For her to act like this, it's simply a state of denial, and probably reflective of how she herself was brought up, likely very conservative values.

It doesn't necessarily mean she loves you any less.

Talk to the therapist and see if your mother wants to come too. That way, you're showing her how you feel - and that you care also about keeping a relationship.
