Hello, I'm James the Toxtricity. Like in my Bio, I am a returning artist, deciding to return once more to give this a chance, maybe make new friends, tell stories, that whole shebang.
I like reading PMD comics as well as Nuzlocke comics, I enjoy making them too (have yet to actually get far in one) and I enjoy story-telling and the communities it brings about. I feel telling stories is one of the greatest forms we as a species have ever conceived, and the multiple forms it has taken over the course of centuries is beautiful. From art, movies, music, comics, you name it. I love storytelling at its finest.
I started back in the good ol’ 2011, a time when PMD comics were taking off around that point, I had found one a while back called PMDT(Tales) and fell in love with its art and characters, and basically ran into a rabbit hole of comics I found like the original Shinka the last eevee, and many others.
So, I picked up a pencil and paper and tried it out on my own. As it goes, my starting quality was rough, but I picked up more skills and lessons along the way. I use to go by Jamestyphlosion back then before the change I have now
I even made my own comic back then called Pmdte (team emerald) and…restarted it multiple times. I wasnt happy with the direction i took the story/ teen drama happened , so I basically kept rebooting it in the hopes I made it perfect. I made it 9 chapters in, then suddenly I was hit with graduating high school. And…I wasn't making it as an artist. I didn't get commissions, I didnt feel my art quality was worth it, I didnt make a patreon due to lack of views, so I basically had to get a job. So i had to get a job.
I worked part time in McDonald's for a while, and also was in college. In that time, things slowed down to a crawl in my works. I wasn't happy with it and I didn't enjoy the early chapters…so, I put it all on hold, and eventually, gave up on it. I even disabled my old account, along with everything on it. Am I proud of that? NO. I wish I didn't do that…but I did, and there wasn't any going back.
Over the years of 2020, I just drew less and less, and just wasn't happy with things. While all this happened as well, I was in an online relationship going on for some time. I had a lot on my plate, and wasn't feeling my love for art coming back.
But then, in late 2022, I finally moved in with my partner. It was scary and took some getting use to, but we feel happier than ever.
And then, year of 2023, I for some reason just…had this spark of desire to do comics again. I had a story in mind, and desired to tell it. And with my loves support, I went back into drawing again…and I have been feeling good about it. And, here we are. Months into posting again, and I feel confident in doing this again, and glad to see the many who enjoy what is being made so far.
I hope to inspire and make new fiends in this new chapter of my life, and I cannot wait to share future stories when the time is right!!
