Oculus Quest link Cable solution
Greetings reader
Are you frustrated trying reliably connect your Oculus Quest via a Link cable? So was I!
MHAHAHAHA!
I cracked the code to get the Oculus Quest link cable to work EVERY TIME. The issue seems to include a ground loop issue. Here are my findings.
I am using a 16ft INIU cable ($19) . The one that allow headset power module to connect to cable to provide infinite power to the headset.
The one I bought has USB-A 3 on the PC end, USB-C on the headset end. It also comes with USB-C on both ends if you need that.

Make sure Oculus Quest Headset has all updates. Make sure Headset battery is charged.
I assume Headset has already been added to the Meta Quest Link app.
I assume your computer has a USB-3.0 or better port.
Steps
- Headset:: turned on, no cable connected, no Quest Power module connected.
- Headset:: Confirm user. Confirm boundary.
- Cable:: not connected to PC or headset, not connected to Quest Power module.
Touch the ground shells of both ends of cable together to eliminated electrical differences.
- Meta Quest Link app:: Launch on PC. Goto DEVICES. Headset should show 'Not Connected'.
- Cable:: Plug into PC. NO QUEST POWER MODULE CONNECTED TO CABLE!
- Cable:: Plug into headset. NO QUEST POWER MODULE CONNECTED TO CABLE!
- Meta Quest Link app:: Goto DEVICES. Headset should show 'Active'.
- Headset:: LinkConnect message will pop up. Click 'Enable'
- Headset:: goto Settings > Link > launch button > turn off AirLink > pick your PC > connect
- Quest Power module:: Connect to AC. Connect to cable.
- Headset:: Continue to use as normal
You now have unlimited power to the headset battery. You now have link cable connection to the PC.
If this works, or not, for you, please leave a comment
MAHAHAHAH. Enjoy
