Yeah, Inktiger just had a post where someone was getting ahold of another person on a different platform about a YCH that hadn't even ended. Sadly one always has to be on guard.

If anyone has a DeviantArt account, they're aware of the scam spam scourge that is also infesting the site. In short, I reported a little over 30 scammer accounts on that site, and, this is only the second month of 2025! I assume that someone (or, at least a few people) are getting desperate for some ill-gained dollars.

Be careful out there - if something seems suspicious, don't ignore the red flags.

The art business is dirty enough when a lot artists are already trying to con people out of their money.

I have seen so many in there and it is very annoying. They keep popping up constantly.

They're mostly bot accounts - easy to create and probably, little effort to maintain ..unless the account gets shut down. IP address checks need to be enforced because most of the active scammer accounts present now were banned before. At the current moment, DeviantArt seems unlikely to do so.

Yeah. I am pretty sure it is unused accounts from different IPs wich been hacked, given the fact they usually are older than 2 years. Though the way DeviantArt have been thrown on the corner like a dirty laundry, they most likely will not do anything about it. It could also be sold from someone though I do not think someone would pay for sockpuppets.

They're everywhere now, no matter what site you post on, they're instantly coming to your private messages and emails. Artstation, Deviantart, Tumblr, Fiverr, Instagram, everywhere. It's terrible.
