well its been a few days and my telegram is still banned. but I wanted to share this process with people, so if you ever experience the same things i am, you have a better idea what to to.

The Journey so far...

Feb 7th- Found out my telegram was banned. I immediately sent an initial email that was a very basic and automated "my phone number was banned. please un-ban it." Of course this happened on my birthday while I was out of town so I couldnt really deal with it at the moment. Happy Birthday to me I guess

Feb 8th- I started delving deep into reddit and various articles, trying to find some reason why this could have happened. All of this boiled down to:
"you Broke their TOS, you were spamming people, you were using too many bots, your account was less than one month old or was inactive, OR someone else reported you to their spambot or admins"
As far as i am aware i have done none of these. and if someone had reported me, i really wish they would have just come talk to me first. i think i am a reasonable snep and we could have talked it out like adults...

anyways...
Per my research i was advised to email recover[at]telegram.org with as much information as possible, and my email would be used as an appeal for my phone number. I also found a page saying i should reach out to telegrams twitter accounts. yeah... good luck with that considering their smstelegram account is suspended and their main messenger account is unable to be messaged. im sure there is some sort of irony there

So, trying to be as thorough as possible, I had two wonderful friends who i had been talking to just earlier that day screenshot our recent conversations.
I also compiled the TOS and all of the potential reasons for the banning, and listed all of the reason I did NOT violate all of these policies. With all of my added screenshots, this email was 6 PAGES long as a google doc. 6 P A G E S ! ! ! ! !

So sent THAT email in with a addendum that my previous, very basic please unban me was not thorough enough. Please consider appealing me with all of my evidence.

Today February 9th-
Heard from my friend who heard from From telegram volunteer support. they advised this to me

Hello, in general, you can send them this info:
Please send an email to recover[at]telegram.org
In the email, make sure to include:
1) The phone number of the affected account (country code is required, North American numbers start with +1).
Make sure to include the phone number in the Subject of the email.
For instance, here is an example email Subject:
+11231231234 phone number was banned
2) All the details about what exactly happened, including approximate dates and times.
Your email will basically be your Appeal. It will allow them to investigate your case. If the case is a false positive, the restriction can be lifted.

So yeah, the only thing I did "incorrectly" was not including my phone number in my email subject title. so I copied THE ENTIRE 6 PAGES and sent it in AGAIN with the proper email subject title to ensure it is correctly documented and viewed.....

I guess now I just have to wait and see what happens. I hope this helps at least one other person in the future...
