I actually have some pics and videos of really huge fat dudes and I use those for size references when I commission people

I use whatever references really suit me for some situations and it really depends because I use both pics and videos as a form of reference, I save the frame I need from the video editing software I use as a means of looking at and inspecting the different parts of the frame/image composition.

There's definitely better places to find irl content but my usual go-to is Twitter, there's a pretty good community of big fellas who put plenty of photos there.

e621 is also really good for finding references of how other artists have drawn things because the tag/search system is so robust, so it's usually my go-to.

The morpho book on fat bodies is a god-send, but generally I just follow a lot of chub/gainer accounts on social media

If you have or know a good AI generator that could help. a friend has generated some amazing poses and random characters that I plan to turn into REAL art as a result. (You know, using AI as a TOOL as its intended?)

AI as a tool is fine as long as you control it, rather use that public use generator that uses pool.

And I by the way got rather annoyed when I saw some generations that remind someone else's works I saw long ago, quite eerie.


for my goals, AI is not helping at all, cuz I might go for some odd pose in mind which I have no knowledge articulating in words.

Note those will butcher anatomy fairly often so its not great for learning that (though better then nothing I guess)

Depends on the AI. Like I said, a friend has been using one with amazing results. If they weren't, I wouldn't be inspired to even begin thinking about turning fake images into real ones. (or real characters)

Yeah the only time i used AI stuff was seeing someone post some AI SSBBW art and using it more for a reference on the color and shadings rather then anatomy. (since the anatomy on it was pretty nonsensical).

Ha funny enough I have tried it once for a pic, granted shes not always a fan of posing xD. An 3d models would be grand but feel like its rare to find one for that size i go for. Would be interesting if i did a commission for a 3D artist for it tho

Yeah it might be an issue finding someone willing to do the bigger sizes you do (probably because rigging the model to move smoothly seems like a nightmare to do properly lol), but for the lower end this guy has a good cow model if you want to check if it even helps first.
