Art full time - What's the deal (Comment your thoughts)

General
So, I've been feeding myself and housing myself with art for a bit now, and you don't gotta tell me that my art output has slowed down. It hasn't factually, I've been drawing more than ever, but figuring out what to post, how to post it, and where is... A challenge. It's been good to know that I can support this, and I've been dealing with a lot of issues behind the scenes, but, I'm going to be taking a month off the owed work from patreon to focus on personal stuff a bit. Personal art, art of characters, the stuff I wanna do, and will be doing that going forward, occasional months off and the like, but I want some feedback from y'all here on this site too!
I've mostly just been uploading weekly sketch pages, I have been doing other stuff, but, I'm not sure if y'all would even care to see the sketches and stuff I've done outside that. I can put them in a folder or probably in scraps, that's easy enough, but figuring out how or when to do that and how to credit people, it's a pain! But, generally, be prepared for a big spam of uploads here in the coming weeks, and more generally be prepared for me to be posting more frequently in general, that's the goal anyways.
I'm also looking to start streaming more regularly, both arts and gameses, so... That'll ideally be happening. If you have any ideas of what days are best to do that, feel free to lemme know in the comments. I'm also planning to work on a personal project to update some of the characters on my roster a lil bit. Notably some of the designs people like that I haven't had any ideas for in a while (Like Dirk, for example) and some of the older offerings. These personal months will be opportunities to work on older projects, touch on older characters, work on some fun indirect funding options (I got some fun ideas for other YCHses and the like). But, if anyone has anything specific, be it a character to revamp or a concept to continue, lemme know, and generally be prepared for more art being shared!

AND if you feel so inclined and wanna see some of it early, you can subscribe to me over on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/c/Hookaloof.....llyCoolPatreon OR if you wanna do a one time donation, I have a Kofi page that I probably should pimp more often (though some VERY kind and giving there already, so thanks to those people GENUINELY life changing.) https://ko-fi.com/hookaloof only give if you feel you wanna!

FA+

It's definitely doable and has its ups and downs for sure. You're your own boss, theres a lot to pay attention to and it's VERY easy to overwork yourself. Take some time off, dedicate days to not drawing. Save up a little to cover some months (if you can) and take a month off every now and then. If that works for you, ofc!
The advice I have:
- Set a schedule and stick to it (if possible; im SO bad at this personally but when I do it helps a lot.)
- Pick a few sites to post to and STICK TO EM!! Like FA and Bluesky are my mains.
- Post consistency! It does not matter WHAT you post, just keep posting. I try (if I have stuff to post) to post once a day. Kinda like streaming on twitch, consistency definitely helps!
I have also found PERSONALLY that posting during the day yields better results BUT dont be afraid to bump that shit (specifically on bluesky!)
- FORTUNATELY You make the rules! But unfortunately, you make the rules. You gotta keep on top of everything; I've found that trello helps me stay organized.
And finally... a tough one to hear...
RAISE YOUR PRICES. I'm not even kidding. Even if its by 5 bucks, it helps. So many people are undercharging themselves.
Streaming would also be cool! It's a good way to get engagement and provide entertainment for the ppl who follow ya :3 Picarto is good for streaming kink stuff (as twitch can be very picky) but I don't have too much info on other services.
Idk if this was quite the advice you were looking for but here's my (albeit very wordy) 2 cents. I hope it helps a little!
At the end of the day, you keep doing what you're doing. I don't talk a lot cuz I'm shy but I love seeing ya post things, especially your sketches! Do what makes you happy and just keep on doing it. The rest should fall into place, eventually.
It's beeeen tough but manageable, and if I accept that I can just *dump sketches in the scraps* that's already something I can do for content, I unironically was better at the daily grind of posting when I had a proper 7-5 day job, but I just need to build up a backlog of posts again!
