Sorry that this post mostly in Russian. I'm writing it in Russian because of regional peculiarities it's possible in Russia only.

https://www.yaplakal.com/forum3/topic2905558.html

This post is about new scam scheme aimed at russian users. Scammers aim at GosUslugi app - this is basically your ID in a phone with bigger functionality. They came up with a scheme that is basically this:
1 - They call and they start very obvious scam scheme.
2 - Then call is "interrupted" by Roscomnadzor robot (it's a ministry that basically does investigation in cyber security stuff, but also site blocking) - and it says "THE CALL HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED FOR REASON OF POSSIBLE FRAUD".
3 - 5 minutes later some "Roscomnadzor manager" calls... And i suspect they will try to get as much info from you as possible, most likely some very sensitive stuff like passwords from bank accounts and such.
Really, that scam uses somewhat new tactic for real, it's first time i see this. They play, first they scare you, and then "officials" call. They give you false sense of security - "These guys saved you, you can trust them 100%"
Sure it may be nothing new, it's scare tactic, just with added step of giving you feeling of false security. But it's first time my family encountered something like that.

i hope i translated it right
It just took my by surprise, i haven't seen that done before. Playing into victim's false sense of security.
i love it when amazon calls me monthly saying they overcharged my account (which i dont have) and at there kindest of hearts call me to help me refund the cash, amazon NEVER refunds you cash for overpaying your account, it just gets credited to your account, also they dont tell you so they can keep the cash.
also recently scams have changed, there is new AI powered scams that there testing right now, using voice mod to hide there broken english to trick folks in a more localized attack.
good for you to know you caught it, just don't answer em as they are relentless.

Usually ours just scam you multiple times, rather than burn their first scam.
Newest scam trend in Tallinn: go door to door, acting like bank agents, trying to take away users “mellisious dangerous bad defective compromised hacked” credit cards. They are basically looking to transfer founds out like it’s a normal online store.
Old people are old and dumb. They might fall for a scam based on decades old practice when we exchanged cards in the bank office. These days the banks don’t confiscate the old cards.
Some victims are so old and dumb they even give their security pin numbers when asked for them.
As for phone scammers… They call so often with so many random scripted stories, they made random calls unusable for everyone now. Unless you are expecting a call, some outright dont even pick up the phone anymore.
