Although I have no plans to reopen commy stuff for the next few months as I have arranged to do some game things 0w0
In all seriousness, do you have any schedule tips or anything to tackle free time, game making, and writing all together, or do you sort of wing it?
First I’d like to divide creativity and creation in general into modes!
#1 I think that one of the most powerful modes is the mode I would like to call inspired aka omega horny. To be in this mode is to have the idea burning a hole in you. It demands to be written /drawn and won’t leave you, like a brain worm. Sense of time is distorted while you write it, you can literally go without eating etc. and don’t even notice. This of course, is a rare mood and only gets rarer over time. It’s nice to have but it’s not consistent by its nature and if one wants to be a full time creator, working without that mood is an essential ability. Preserve omega horny by pickling the idea. Basically compartmentalize it ie writing all details down and saving there somewhere unseen/unused and generally not thinking about it unless you’re implementing/going to implement it. If not just working on it ASAP while it’s fresh in your mind.
#2 The next mood is to be in the zone in general. This is distinguished by time passing oddly, continuously working without feeling a particular need to pause, stuff flows smoothly. This is similar to omega horny and may in fact be on a spectrum towards it. But it doesn’t necessarily require an attraction to the idea, it is a confluence of other factors like how much the idea challenges you. As well as how novel the idea or take on it is. Being in the zone is a lot easier to achieve. It’s a matter of adjusting factors like how much you like the idea, how you’re implementing it differently this time, how you much it challenges you or is otherwise weird/alien to your usual work. You can better maintain in the zone by avoiding distractions when you get into the state, and not breaking the combo by AVOIDING: pausing the work to check notifs, AVOIDING spending time to think up better names/stats, and INSTEAD generally keeping the ball rolling.
#3 The third is interested. The idea you’re working on is interesting and you’re intrigued to find out what happens next or what you can divulge. You’re writing a text and iterating with the process like ‘Well what WOULD Jim say if he saw his coworker is now a dolphin?’ The concepts are at least a little intriguing and you’re kind of leaning in your seat like ‘what would happen next in this predicament?’ Even if it’s a scenario you’ve written before, it is a little different or you have a particular challenge / tweak like writing in 1st /2nd person or trying to rhyme or alliterate, etc., you should always be trying to strive for this level of engagement with your story. Either make the premise more interesting, or ask more questions. What happens next? Yes, Tim is a shoe, but what is the internal experience of a shoe? So on.
#4 4th is stuck. Stuck is very bad and can kill a story or make a story not live up to its full potential. It is the feeling of multiple good choices for what direction the story takes, but difficulty deciding which. Alternatively, it is unclear what happens next, so the momentum is muddled. You should have a friend try to help you decide. I think if you have to absolutely choose though, you are better off picking rather than wasting a bunch of time and inspiration and frustration on trying to pick the perfect choice. Stuck is different from losing momentum because while you can lose momentum deliberating on unimportant stuff like how many pounds do testicles weigh, you can be stuck on a valid part of the plot. I still suggest trying to push through tho.
#5 Last one is just bored? Like rotely writing what happens. I feel like this is a basic writer move that prevents one from fully realizing the potential of a piece. It arises from a lack of interest but also a lack of interest in being interested in the work. Kind of a burnout in a sense. Best to avoid but in rare cases you may have to power through ie write a serviceable scene to get to the next part. But ideally you use strats to try and achieve the other modes.
~
It’s hard to explain. But basically if you asked a normie who doesnt write to write a story, it would come out ‘bored’. Similar to asking a non artist to draw a house. It would be an unimmersive abstraction of the scene. For the house it’d be a square a triangle and a rectangle and two other squares inside the big square. For writing it’s ‘John went to the store. He picked out some apples. He checked out and went to his car’. Basically the mind’s eye is not engaged and writer is relying on highest level abstraction or trope. Or in general when one is super tired or something and falling asleep while trying to write. Mind’s eye is not engaged and one is just writing the next sentence.
~
It’s still possible to write at a high level in this mood but you’re basically tapping into muscle memory/book of phrases rather than mana. Like if I were to phone it in, I’d come up with what comes to mind with penus in vajina or whatever, probably mention thrusts, fluids, throbbing, contractions, thighs rubbing together, just regular stuff that comes to mind.
BONUS #6
The 6th one is different. Editor/self critique. It is going back and looking at the work with fresh eyes after a period of detachment say days to a year. You dont recall all the details and/or you dont have the exact mental image / state of mind when you first wrote it. So you can more objectively judge whether your writing was effective in conjuring a certain mental image, and if so? What kind. Degree of freshness of the text to yourself may be variable, even a work you wrote an hour ago can be fresh for the sake of at least critiquing your own phrasings etc.
So with that explained. I think some warmup regimen to consistently hone your modes. I myself use warmups which can cost say, 15 or 30 minutes and get the ink flowing so to speak. Which is worth the cost if it can get you into the better modes. Without having to throw yourself halfway into a story you wrote, with rereading etc. as the cost each time. That itself can be helped by stopping story writing only a natural pause point/new scene.
(These may not be the best way to put it, as I have only described these now, but they have always more or less existed to me, just without the right labels. "In the zone" / flow state is a real thing though, look it up.)
So basically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had some kind of show or movie. It was the intro to it, which isn’t lore accurate, since nowadays the Turtles are born turtles.
But in that intro or some such, maybe it was a bumper, humans get stuck in some kind of compressor/human shaped mold like those factory TF things. There’s a green goop or something poured in and they emerge all steamy as mutant turtles 0w0
That really activated my almond for some raisin.
I also can recall Blade having some kinda interesting TF scene (I saw that movie when I was wee)
Now then—what about you!? 🫵
It was pokemon. Specifically the episode where Ash's charmander evolves into charmeleon. Ever since then I thought transformations and metamorphoses were cool as heck.
When I was older I found softcore TF smut on deviantart. And that's when my almond got activated :3
Well of course it didnt quite activate my almond in that way, though, it just made me feel strange, as though something were suddenly possible/revealed to me and a certain queasiness but also excitement?
Chanta Ra broke me tho for sure. One-shotted me. I was imprinted with the desire for shiny pink futa foxes 0w0 and parasites. Quite a shame tho. I would’ve liked to have been that artist’s contemporary but I’m sure he stopped posting way before my time in this space as a smut writer. Nonetheless! I am honored to be a contemporary of such amazing, talented people. Really, just thinking about it fills me with a great complex emotion(not pride/ego) but rather—awe, but also a nostalgia-for-what-still-is. I say this because I think it’s important to remind oneself to be grateful for the smaller stuff.
(That list of course including you. And Jacob since he’s inevitably going to read this and ask otherwise if I don’t specifically mention him, because my mental model of him is quite accurate 👐 So accurate I am actually imagining infinite Jacobs in my head right now, suffering sexily.)

I think there are some popular media ones I should get around to tho, like Krystal. It honestly seems like a lot of extra work to research and portray the charry accurately tho!
What about you?
Also been wanting to get a kind of fusion between my OC and bowser
Possibly more embarrassing question since you seem open to it, discovered any new kinks recently? Or just had any you've wanted to engage with more but haven't recently?
I think I am into egg and musk stuff more than I would have initially thought. Well, breeding is in fact one of my strongest kinks, I would actually put that whole sphere of adjacent stuff at level with my enjoyment of CTF and related.
Recently the way this one artist draws dragon tailholes in particular has activated my almond, as I’m not usually into excessive gapey stuff but!

What about you? >:3
Extremely agreed about egg stuff and CTF both. Recently re-discovered penis-in-penis and urethra fucking while trying to find an old CTF art I was thinking of and I got a lot more intrigued by it this time around, as previously I wasn't interested. Always fun to rediscover something and find it more exciting hehe
Yeah, cockfucking is really good. Really activates my almond. Slitfucking and related are also nice! I do enjoy my weird penetrations, nipples can also be neat. I know https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/unitno04/ has some great cockfucking stuff and https://e621.net/posts?tags=spaal+urethral spaal's urethral/sheath stuff is truly incred :3
--Once I post him, that is~
