After reading this, I am not sure if this is an early April Fool's prank or Catalyst Labs just wanted to jump the shark once again because they have no idea what to do with their IPs anymore.
The main concept is this is to be alternative universe to the original BT story line reimagined with the original battlemechs and new "abominations" geneticallly engineered creatures that form a new threat on the tabletop. The name "Gothic" reveals that this is an attempt to try to cash in on Warhammer 40k and Trench Crusade.
Personally, I am not feeling it. I used to be a fan of BT, and Battletech was my gateway game during high school. The mechs look nice, but I see it contrasting way too much with the "hard sci-fi" themes of the original setting. This not only seems to be another cash grab after a few poorly run kickstarter campaigns, but another display that none of the IP owners know what to do with what was once a popular franchise.
And looking at the artwork, I am curious as to how they are going to handle any miniatures that are to be released for the line. GW had enough trouble with their product lines over the years, but to have five different faction versions of each giant robot seems to be an impossible task for what was once a rather simple collection of figures. And I can not envision any FLGS being able to carry even half the possible range.
Overall, seems odd to be attempting something this "new" for such an old franchise.
It is obvious that a lot of work went into this, but again the presence of what is basically kajiu in a mecha heavy setting that greatly avoided even having aliens in their setting seems to be a rather cringe inducing move.
I don't have high hopes for this, and it pains me to see what was a favorite game setting be reduced to its current state.

It's pretty impressive how regularly they've fucked Shadowrun repeatedly.
