I thought the world left behind polyamory...

In the USA, people are expected to work their way up in society on their own and make their own vacations. In addition to that, Americans are extremely wary about people who seek having a relationship with other people just for the perceived benefits from it than genuine love. Then again, that sounds like many countries. Yet polyamory is a thing in America, but most of these relationships do not last. Nobody taught me or told me anything about this, but doesn't polyamory attract romance scammers or lazy people who just want to be in it and expect others to take care of them?
I thought Americans want people to also be able to take care of themselves first, which is basically a common mindset in not just the western world, but also basically around the world too for the most part. Doesn't polyamory defeat that purpose?
I'm sorry, but I don't understand polyamory well enough, even though I have to have friends explain how that works here and what is expected. Personally, I'm not interested in polyarmory because it takes too much time and resources.
Yes, it is true that in the past, some societies allowed people to have multiple partners, but people left that behind in favor of monogamy due to management challenges that comes from that. Yes, Islamic societies allow polygamy, but the majority of Muslims prefer monogamy and being single due to management issues and conflicts of interests from polygamy. So I would imagine polyamory involves a lot of conflicts of interests.

Polygamy is also something God condemns; His proper definition of a marriage is one man, one woman. It's just another tactic Satan uses to deceive the globe. There's literally no other explanation for it.

OP
America even had a war over that against the Mormons a long time ago. Lilburn Boggs was a Missouri governor who asked the Mormons to abandon their beliefs before threatening them and eventually calling for mass violence against them. Makes you wonder how God felt about Boggs, which most likely He didn't approve Boggs' approach to the Mormons at the time.

He probably had a few choice words for Boggs, as well as Joseph Smith. Ultimately the big sin is twisting His doctrine out of context for one's own gain, although it isn't quite the unforgivable sin. The one and only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. If you've saved, it's impossible to do that, though.
