⚠️ Warning About Commission Issues – Stay Safe! ⚠️
5 months ago
Hey everyone, I want to bring attention to a commission issue my friend has been dealing with regarding a certain neon kween.
The Issue:
- My friend commissioned this artist and was told it would take a week at most.
- It’s been a month now, and they have been ignored and ghosted repeatedly.
- When they do get a response, it’s usually excuses like "Discord issues" or "I'm working on it," followed by more silence for days.
- Meanwhile, the artist is actively posting other commissions, proving they are working on new pieces but still ignoring my friend.
The Problem:
- Since my friend used PayPal’s Friends & Family option, they can’t request a refund—a mistake to learn from!
This type of behavior damages trust in the art community and makes it harder for honest artists to get commissions.
Stay Safe & Protect Yourself:
✅ Always use "Goods & Services" when paying via PayPal so you can dispute issues.
✅ Set clear deadlines and ask for updates if delays happens.
✅ Be wary of ghosting—if an artist keeps avoiding updates but takes other commissions, that’s a red flag.
✅ Spread awareness so others don’t fall into the same situation.
Commissioning artists should be a fun and fair experience for everyone. Unfortunately, some people take advantage of trust, and it’s important to hold them accountable.
Stay safe out there!

But G&S is a must, in todays age.
I lost 500$, because a artist scammed me and then crapped a half finished commission in my hand. "The commission was a 300$ commission".
The problem is, you cant really do something against it. Even if you use G&S, the ToS of artists can be so... vaguely formulated, that they find a loophole, to not pay you.
also yes G&S do not use family
Like the artist, I was talking about, had a point in the super long ToS. "If the customer putting a stain on my mental health by any means, I can forfeit the commission and hold in the money."
Paypal will go in and say "Welp dude, shouldnt commission someone with such a shady ToS."
You can be a artist with very loose AGBs or one with strict, that maybe give you some loophole, to deal with customers, you dont want anymore.
I do often have discord fail to send through images that is true, then I often become sidetracked and forget to double check, pieces currently posted are from prior commissions not new ones.
I can check on your friends message thread if you let me know the user, if not maybe you could have them bump the conversation and I can go from there, thanks in advance.
seem your FA can post your images just fine :3
personally I try my best to keep things transparent but if someone is not satisfied with me I can't force them to keep commissioning me
