Gonna be of work for two weeks within a week and really considering getting a external Blu-ray player so I can binge watch some stuff on my laptop.

physical media WILL return.

so, yeah. never a bad idea to have physical media available, cus...the moment you lose internet signal, you lose access to the movies and series you are paying for.

If it's not too expensive, it's not a bad idea. Matters on how many blu-rays/DVD's you have though.

Yes, but keep in mind Blu-Ray discs only live for like 5-10 years, unlike CDs and DVDs which have live spans of +100 years.

So if you get one you better rip the Blu-Ray to your PC.

Under ideal storage conditions, Blu-Ray discs can last for several decades.

Keep in mind you’ll need software to play the discs too. Default media players like stuff built into Windows, VLC, and MPC don’t have support for Blu-rays by default, only DVDs. You’ll need to buy software with Blu-ray playback or figure out a grey-market workaround.
