About Sandalpunk Rock

So, as many of you have probably guessed from the fact that yesterday's post was made on April Fools' Day, "sandalpunk rock" is, as far as I am aware, a completely fictional music subgenre invented in my head. The entire backstory I came up with for it is that sandalpunk rock was invented here in the States back in roughly 2005, is a blend of punk-rock and Antiquity music (think Ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt), and has lyrics (mostly in English but sometimes in Classical Latin, Attic Greek, and/or Coptic) about many of the legends, myths, histories, and cultures of the time period. The name itself is based on a real retrofuturistic science-fiction genre that actually is named "sandalpunk" and set in a futuristic version of Antiquity.
And now I pass the proverbial torch to any musician/producer eager enough to try to make their own spin on "sandalpunk rock". I genuinely am rather curious to see as to which direction(s) this musical subgenre goes.
