Getting to know others IRL about Sex and Kinks even in a funny/cute way seems impossible without being SO OPEN, even speaking of VG is difficult and that is FAR more common.

It's been getting a lot harder for me, too. I'm an old fogey with social anxiety and all of my local meet stuff is the same way.
It really sucks because the only way to join these groups is through a huge Telegram group chat where folks already know each other and conversations are happening constantly. I really miss my old local forum where you could interact with folks at your own pace and filter out irrelevant conversations. x.x

All I'm really looking for is a chance to make another friend or two who's in the fandom that I can hang out with to play games, film video skits and go to furry cons with. My one IRL friend is happy to do a lot of that but being he's not a furry there's not a whole lot for him to do at furry cons.

Honestly, that's ideal for me too! It's cool that you have a supportive irl friend, though I know it's not the same as hanging out with someone in the fandom.

Ottawa right? There is a Ottawa furs weekly Friday fur meet from 6:30pm to 8:30 ish pm at the Carlingwood mall food  court.
There is also a telegram and a facebook group you can join and I believe a discord (but I'm not in it so IDK).

I'd heard about that from another friend but when I asked her about it a few days ago she said that group disbanded.

Well then, maybe it's just that my friend of mine stopped going to it or it changed hands in terms of organizers. That one would probably be the most convenient for me because I go to Carlingwood every other Friday anyway to walk around and get exercise (though earlier in the day; I typically leave by 5pm.)

The only inconvenience really is that I don't drive and I don't have a phone so unless I got a ride I'd have to bus back after hours and Lincoln Fields station is kind of a chewed up mess.

I can't make a Telegram because I don't have a smart phone or tablet (I have reasons for why I'm not a fan of those things in general.) I pretty much do everything through e-mail.

Can't help you with transportation, but I can verify that the meet ups at Carlingwood are still happening every Friday at least, excluding any holidays off course.

And yes I do know about CanFURence. So far I've only been once back in 2023 (the time they introduced that utterly broken registration system that made the line take HOURS.) My one IRL friend who goes to all other conventions with me around the city understandably isn't too keen on going back to that once since he's not a furry so there wasn't a whole lot for him to do even once we got through that ludicrously long line. Hence why I'm looking for other furs around the city that I can go to that and other furry events with.

I will be going to Anime Ottawa in full Cinderace suit on the 20th however.

The only issue the mall has is no fursuit heads, but that's most likely for security reasons. Paws, ears, and tails are welcomed though
