same account was impersonating me a while ago and wanted to scam my clients. sad to see its still going :/ report the bxtch! its affecting A LOT of artists

We cant do much but informing people afterwards, posting journals and else. I think Koul was posting scammer warning info on the ych images itself. But there is really nothing we can outside this, people should be aware and cautious where they send money and for sure they cant blame us for anything. Maybe banks / paypal can do some refunds eventually.

Reminds me of that one time, someone told me they bought my character for 80 usd on facebook somewhere... they just admited they got scammed and informed me about it, but, well, what can I do :'D they will always find a way

Just remember - capitalization in the name matters if an "artist" suddenly reaches out to you. Though, amidst the excitement of a supposed artist reaching out, I bet that's a VERY easy thing to miss. A lot of people might just see the name and numbers and not think anything else of it. That's crazy, though, and scammers seem to be a rampant issue these days. Every week, I swear, one artist or another posts a Journal warning people about someone impersonating them...

Wouldn't it be nice if when someone starts a new conversation with you, there was a "verify user" option where there was a button you could press that would prompt the user to answer some question that could be defined in the settings? You could set your question to be what your first car was, or what your pet name is, any number of personal things only you would know. If you click the option to verify someone, they have maybe 10 minutes to answer correctly (and only they could see what they type for a response on their end), and if they answer correctly, then an automated message will appear saying the pereon has verified - if they fail or don't answer the question, then an automated message simply disclaims you from talking to the person. You can still talk to them at that point, but it would be discretionary, and at least you'd have some way of knowing something isn't right with them.

Responding to my own message before anyone else chimes in - okay, maybe disregard the whole verifying user part, because that wouldn't really work if the scammer answers their own question correctly? Yeah, I didn't think that one through - I blame it being a long day and having a bit of a headache at the moment. But still - the first part at least still applies.

here, in case of a scam (happened to me a few months ago :L ) , the commissioner who was getting the scam attemps tried somethign very clever: in doubt, they asked "me" (the false me) to make a isible alteration on my FA account (in that case, they asked the scammer to actually edit the title of the ongoing YCH for "closed" instead of "open" )... surely the scammer was unable to do it and what was already a red flag for my commissioner made them await for my own return (i was not home/aailable at the moment and did only see it a few hours later)

So now, i have a pinned message on my telegram saying that, in case of doubt: i will always be willing to edit a visible thing on my FA account to make it clear i am the one thy are talking to :)
