Concerning the Old Audio Soundscapes...
Good evening everyone, I hope you're enjoying the run up to Easter!
I've been receiving a continuing stream of messages enquiring into the audio soundscapes which used to be on my page, so I thought I'd offer some clarity on the topic:
So, Where and Why have they all gone?
The work was all created 'for research use only, education and not to generate an income', blah blah blah, which I had hoped would safeguard me from any copyright repercussions for procuring sound effects using certain methods. Yo ho, pirate's life for me. I'm not a millionaire, but I still wanted to create and share the results with people who would 'enjoy' it as much as I did. You all know what I mean ;)
Unfortunately, that backfired in my face, and I dodged a fairly high-caliber bullet which came perilously close to doing some serious damage. I'm not 100% comfortable with elaborating any further, it still keeps me up at night. Once bitten, twice shy.
As a safety measure, I essentially burnt anything which had the capacity to be interpreted as an infringement. It wounded me as much as I can see it wounded all you lovely people who asked where it all went, and I'm truly sorry I had to recall it all, but we can't be doing anything which breaks the rules.
In exchange, I've been looking into new audio content which won't be an infringement, and at the same time I'm trying to learn how to draw. If you can be patient with me, I promise I'll fill the gallery with some new tasty content which will make up for the previous works.
I hope you all understand it wasn't a power-move or a change of heart, it was literally to avoid repercussions. Once again, you have my apologies for giving you something which had to be taken away, but like I said, the kitchen's still open and there's a new menu!
Enjoy the approach to summer and have yourselves a splendid weekend when you get there!
Much love,
That Big Orange Dude.

How exactly do you get copyright striked for sound effects? Are sound effects not public domain? I’ve never heard of someone getting in trouble for “stealing” sound effects, so I’m a little confused.

Fair question, there are a lot of sound effects readily available in the public domain, but higher quality sound effects (the ones I went looking for) are either pay per item, or subscription for access. Bypassing the need to pay for it is the equivalent of avoiding the necessary licensing, which wouldn’t have been an issue if I didn’t share or upload the soundscapes, but I did. Whoops. 😅

The fact that you were found out...here...is kinda funny. "Hey this is hot! Wait...I know that sound"

D’you know I never thought of that 😂 may even have been a copyright bot, or an AI, either way. 🤷♂️
