If I were to wager a guess, I've had a somewhat similar issue myself, on a much smaller scale. I think it has to do with the fact you've built up a fanbase who specifically likes your nommy protogen antics, so when they see the one of the Yoshi, they aren't as likely to favorite. I think it's not because they dislike the concept, but that it's not the status quo, so-to-speak.
Try not to take anything negative from it. Sometimes pieces just perform worse than others. Don't be discouraged if possible.

I did guess the same, tbh I didn't thought that not being protogen vore would be a problem for the outcome stats of the art, anyways I'll keep making/uploading no proto centric stuff sometimes lol.

I think it's because of the habit of always seeing you devouring your prey.
This last one was very different from what you usually post, you're not devouring someone, but someone else devouring them, in this case Yoshi (I hadn't seen it because of my work, I didn't have time, forgive me >n<)
The drawing is very beautiful, full of details and colors, shadows, lights and background (something you don't do often, but you tried hard to do). It has nothing to do with the problem
I don't know if this is the real reason for the problem, it's just a guess. But I hope I've helped or given you an idea about the cause.

Ye heh, everyone expects me to do upload proto noms/bewwies and then BOOM, YOSHI, (btw fun fact, I thought on also give me a prey in my bewwy, but were problematic for the pose XD, I'd fall off if lol)
