[EXPERIMENTAL PCB COMMISSIONS – 6 SLOTS OPEN]
Disclaimer: This is a new and experimental format!
When one door closes, another opens — and in light of my current situation, I'm opening a few very special commission slots. I’m offering custom printed circuit board (PCB) commissions in collaboration with artists.
✨ What is this?
You’ll receive a physical PCB featuring your character - a unique, collectible item that blends digital art with real-world electronics aesthetics-
🛠️ How it works:
You can choose between three collaboration formats:
- You bring an artist you already know and trust - they create the lineart for their price, and I handle the PCB design and production. I've prepared detailed guidelines to help your artist navigate the process. Feel free to reach out with an artist you’ve already agreed with - or just let me know, and I can handle the coordination on my side.
- I bring one of my trusted artists - and we handle the entire piece together as a team. This section will be updated.

- If you're an artist and have an idea you'd like to bring to life in PCB format, feel free to reach out - I'd be happy to discuss your concept!
- As it's mass production - we can discuss a batch up to 500 pcs in case you want to do merchendise.

💸 Pricing (approximate — the final price will depend on the design complexity and chosen color palette):
Lineart: varies depending on the chosen artist
My PCB design work: ~$150–350 (€140-€320)
Production + shipping: $25–100 (€23-€90) (depending on region, complexity, and quantity — see the artist guidelines for more info)
Overall: $175-450 (€150-€400) + artist line price
I use PayPal and LavaTop + take both $ and EUR
🎨 Why?
Because there's nothing else quite like this — it’s a rare, tactile form of art, and I’m genuinely excited to explore new creative ground through this format.
📦 5 slots available
Format and layout are fully flexible — we’ll tailor everything to your vision.

It could be of course, it's not single action.
What do you mean by form? As previously I mostly do this for specific events like ACEO trades - that dictated a pcb form, but I experimented with different shape as well.
Usually I prefer to stick to pure art form and avoid complex functionality as I haven't ability to prototype it in my place. Without prototyping of schematic - it would be a huge risk to do. But for simple cases - yes, why not?

Nice to meet someone with similar interests. 🙂 Usually the best way is to check the specific design guidelines of the factory you’re ordering from (JLCPCB, PCBWay, etc.).
As far as I know, JLC doesn’t allow multicolour soldermask/silkscreen. I’d love to find a factory that does, but in my experience it usually comes at a much higher cost and only makes sense for very large production runs (if we talk about final product) or if you agreed with costs. Maybe some smaller fabs offer this at a more reasonable price, but I haven’t yet come across one.
For silkscreen graphics: stick to the minimum line width and text size listed in the fab’s DFM rules. Straight lines tend to print cleaner, while very thin curved details can get lost or look jagged.
And hiding a drawing under a BGA footprint sounds like a really fun idea! What CAD do you use for your designs?
Altium seems widely advertised to the point I started to think it was industry standard. But a friend who designs pcbs for a living says the company uses Synopsys Xpedition
I'm still a newb when it comes to doing advanced designs (BGA, high-speed, multilayer) my friend will help me review the design before sending it to the factory.
It is in their interests for everyone to think that this is the industry standard. :) It's partly true - it's really powerful tool, but often you can cover your needs with open source software.
Glad to hear that you have good reviewer! Because it's always better to have prototype and review before production..
