Laid off from Amazon

Today went into work, me and dozens of other folks got dropped off in a lunchroom and it was told to us that we were being laid off. I left shortly thereafter and now I am here one job less.
For the record, I have been saving up a fair chunk of change for exactly this sort of occurrence, I will be financially stable for about 6 months so I am not worried on that front. I am worried about how dead the Job market is where I live though. I never stopped applying to jobs upon being hired at Amazon and since August i haven't heard so much as a response. With custom resumes, cover letters, hiring counselers, etc. Nothin.
So I think I need to change something more drastically in my life!.. but I am also pretty upset about just getting laid off, so I think I am gonna take a few days or so to plan things out.
But in the meantime expect more comics!
I have more freetime obviously, so starting this coming week I am gonna shoot for 2 comics a week, if anything doing so would take up less hours than my job so I will definitely still have time to apply, search, research and plan out my next moves. I think I will shoot for uploads on Friday and Sunday so keep an eye out!
Job market may suck, may now be jobless, but hopeless is not a thing at this time! Gonna push forward as best I can. Be well!

It's especially egregious because my role involved trying to implement GenAI technology to streamline business productivity in the Air Force, so basically doing it the RIGHT way instead of some bullshit AI f"art" that doesn't benefit the warfighter
I thought I'd have had more time because I didn't think they'd scale back on THAT but apparently contractors were the first to go especially after our director stepped down because the RTO EO was too much for her commute
Been applying to well over a year to different jobs not only in my state, but in other neighbor states. Nothin. Amazon does suck, but it was 19/hour in a physically demanding, mentally taxing, unsafe job in which people would just leave me be and let me do my job. Its a horrible job but it is one of the few places where a job is usually guaranteed.
Probably because they churn through too many workers, but I digress.
It's back to applying full time instead of part time. But I may just take this as a sign to try and figure out working abroad.
Hope you can find somezhing much better where you are appreciated.

Don't feel obligated to up your patreon contributions. I have money to float on for a fair bit of time (I save religiously just for situations like this). There are a lot of folks out there who are worse off than me. If you really want to contribute, i would prefer it to be for supporting the project rather than supporting me.

I am aware, I never stopped job hunting even while working at Amazon, I am gonna try and stay focused and/or pick some sort of new path
Yeah economy was kinda effed for a while but since last year it's been switching from going downhill to a straight up 90° plummet.
Even here in germany you can feel Trumps politics. A friend of mine lost his job two weeks ago due to his division of the company literally being dissolved. (Contractors for US military bases here in Ger)
Also my company announced they are going to lay off 35% of all workers. Nobody is safe it feels like.
