Am I enjoying vore the wrong way? [Stupid rant]

Something that quite often keep showing up in my timeline on social media when people talk about vore is how much the fun in vore is in the bullying and cruelty of it, making it more about snuff than anything. I also see once in a while people saying that vore is about closeness, feeling protection, wholesome stuff and stuff like that, but to a much smaller degree in comparison to the most comments of people being really mean about it.
Seeing that on social media and some interactions I've had, I think I'm in a different wavelengh, cuz I don't really vibe with either of those two types of vore enjoyers, fatal and endo folks.
I guess my disconnect begins on how hard or serious people go about it. The ones talking about unwilling/fatal stuff I just feel unsettled by how hard they lean into it. The more wholesome and endo stuff I just get kind of bored and gloss over often the person for me, seems like they're thinking too hard about it and trying to make a logic for it to work and seems like they're trying to appeal to folks that don't like vore.
Nowadays, the way I like making my vore is more carefree, ever since I've stopped trying figure out a way/logic for it to operate years ago, I've been enjoying it much more, mostly focused on just having fun with it, like an old cartoon, just don't think about it. I like making vore more as something that happens in a story than the story be about vore itself, as in, there is not much logic about it, or at all, no world building around it specifically like a "vore culture" or something, no "pred/prey" stuff. I like to keep it shallow and simple, just something fun, silly and hot, nobody is hurt, nobody trully dies, in the end it's all just a cartoon... a lewd cartoon.
Despite enjoying both sides, I feel like the way I make it really appeals to no one. I think the reason it's because it's not that deep and my focus seems on something else around it. Not caring about vore allows me to be more flexible for example, most of the effort goes into building up some little backstory, giving them something to do or having fun with other stuff... Like which arsenal a character will have, what car they drive, vehicle he pilot, how much damage their combos deal, stuff like that.
The vore side thing I give 'em without much thought, but it becomes a bit complicated since it seems like nobody seems to care or appreciate anything that isn't vore focused.
...I also feel like vore has changed, it has been a while, I don't see anybody around anymore concerned over characters getting digested, u know, "Is he gonna be okay?" type of stuff, now what I see more is the opposite, people always hoping if a character is going to die and saying how hot it's gonna be because of it.
Anyway... Just wondering if someone also made this observation, how most vore fans actually like it, just feeling like maybe I'm missing something.

I bounced back and forth between both sides of the vore community, while exploring myself. I kind of landed in this nice space all my own because of what I prefer.
Painless digestion, reformation and/or sentient fat, things like that. Even in scenarios where it's a pred being especially dominant, there is an air of appreciation and even love. It's a nice middle ground for me.
What do I enjoy in a given moment is based on my mood at a given moment. That said I have still seen plenty of "they going to be ok?" comments on E621 vore images. And honestly they still annoy me.
Like, one interpretation that some of my characters use endo for mountain rescues. Not even a fetish at that point, it's just practical.
also yeah the snuff-y nature of some people’s vore enjoyment always rubs me the wrong way so I totally get that
personally I’m a big fan of mixing things and kinks, so I think I’m on the same page as you in terms of not having vore be a focus. it’s just a thing that can be done, and like all things it can be alone or it can be together. this might just be a consequence of me having a billion kinks though fbdbjdnd
If im reading it correctly, you enjoy the use of vore as a plot device, more of a trope/goal (depending on the story) rather than the focus when it happens. Is that the wrong way to enjoy it? Absolutely not-
Like asae and cosmicPython said; Vore is a very personal thing, there is no right or wrong way to enjoy it; Vore is flexible in implementation, it can be as mean or loving, as deep or as shallow, as consequential or as Episodic(and consequence free) as you wanted and it will still be fine liking it like that; heck you can also enjoy it even if is not the main focus, it being the sprinkle on top of another fetish, trope or story; like pre-story lore, fantasy myths, hypno, game mechanics, bdsm, paws, maw fixation, ect; there is no wrong way to enjoy vore cause there is no right way.
The important thing is that you enjoy your own take on it regardless of the common trends or other's opinion.
I do like your approach to things being more cartoon like. There has been quite a few comics and stories I have read where the pred was so sadistic that I felt more angry than turned on lol.
Oh while I'm here I would like to say I really like these 2 comics you did that were rebirth vore comics.

I just wish people would be a little more respectful of others, it's fine to not like certain things -- I know with darker stuff for me if it's too mean or harsh it tends to be a turnoff -- but trying to subdivide things or looking down on others really irritates me. We should be trying to create more vore, not pressure people away from what they want to do.
