I need to rethink and change my art process
6 months ago
So I will be completely honest: lately I have not really had the best time working on my art the last little bit, like every time I think I'm happy with my work, I end up having something come up that makes me feel unhappy with it for a while. Like I've been dealing with issues both on my iPad and my art tablet, I haven't had a great time getting my lineart to look how I want it to, when I do I still feel like my work looks like
stiff, boring, lifeless, and I'm just having a hard time trying to deal with these.
I really want to change how I work, I want to spend more time actually like getting a piece done quick, not spending days, weeks, months on it, I want to not care so much about making my lineart look sleek and smooth, I want to give my work a looseness and a life to it I feel it doesn't have, I want to make it look really good!!!
I tend to get people feeling kind of confused what I mean about the stiff and boring thing, so I'm gonna give examples of artists who do lineart that I like and is what I want to go for in that sense:

Basically: I do all of my work in smooth, consistent lines, always try to keep them very rigid, and I feel like it doesn't make my art pop, like my work just looks...bleh. I admire all of these artists and pieces, I love the way the lineart looks. I love that it's not all done in consistent lines, the lines don't always connect perfectly, they're not done with perfectly solid pens, they're not perfectly smooth, but they still look so friggin' hot. And there's a pop to these I don't see in my own work. I want to have that pop, but...it's gonna take me a long time to get to that, and I'm still having some trouble figuring it out.
So yea, just...I want my work to stand out more than it does currently. I want it to look more loose, more lively than it does currently. And I'm trying to figure that out. I hope you guys understand like where I'm coming from with all of this.
