[VN] I just finished 9:22

9:22 is a completely free, furry visual novel created by
cockhole. You can download it at https://cockhole.itch.io/9-22 . Without spoiling the plot, I am going to give my opinion on this VN.
9:22 is a mess! An amazing mess, but a mess nonetheless. This mess however, adds to the story in a way that somehow ties it all together (for the most part). As I read the story, I kept finding that I couldn't place a succinct timeline together in my head. There's a very good reason for that: the story deals a lot with the multiple-universe theory, particularly about mirror-worlds. I cannot delve too deep into how this plays a part in the story without ruining the whole thing, but it is very intriguing how it confuses you yet keeps you engaged. By the time I had gotten not even halfway through, my head was hurting from all the convoluted temporal shenanigans. This just drove me on to finish the story, however.
Now for the bad parts! I found that the romance sub-plot was heart-wrenching, and there is no satisfying end to it whatsoever. Additionally, all the characters are left on a cliff-hanger, sans epilogue. There is no attempt to wrap up loose ends. I cannot tell if the author intended that we never get to learn about what happens to everyone after the story's main plot concludes, but due to the author's somewhat elusive nature we will have to wait and see if a sequel will be made. Honestly, I really hope there is a sequel, or at least a fan-made epilogue. The characters are so well developed, yet we never get to see their fate, and it ruins the ending a little for me.
All in all 8/10. Great story, but what a brutal cliffhanger.
