About the short stories on commissions
Hey there!
It probably looks like I haven't been super active lately here (and that's partially true), but I have been doing some commissions for a while. However, I haven't been able to post most of them mainly due to the amount of time I spend trying to come up with stories that are usually in the descriptions. Despite the stories being relatively short, I actually do a good amount of research and planning for it. I research about who the KO'd character is and where they are from, their source material/media and their world/lore, their most likely actions when in conflict, and more. Then I try to my best to twist that into something that's still in-character for the subject and source material, but also part of the main theme of the commission: the character being knocked out. On top of that, I also try to keep things consistent between stories and commissions as if it was on-going.
For example, most of the TMNT stories are relatively easy to figure out. The source media of TMNT already involve fighting/action and a large yet open roster of enemies that could feasibly knock the Turtles out. Their personalities are simple yet established as well, so determining their actions is also easy. Their setting is also very easy since it is usually just a city and the requested setting for those commissions reflect that. The hard part is linking the stories I've already made about the Turtles into something cohesive and consistent, while also making sure the standalone story is interesting on its own. For more experienced writers, this kind of thing is most likely easier than how I'm describing it, but it unfortunately takes a lot of time for me.
That being said, I'm positive this is happening because I want to make sure the short stories I write for others are perfect, so that's on me lol. But I do want add quality stories as side material for these commissions. However, for the sake of showing off my work so other people can be interested, I might release a batch of commissions without a story for now. Hopefully I'll be able to catch on some stories down the line, but I want to make sure I'm posting commissions somewhat consistently.
Thank you for reading!
